Development and Execution of Communication Strategies:

  • Under the direction of the Director of Internal Communications, this position will partner to execute internal communications programs and strategies that drive employee engagement and communicate critical information to all Carlson Hotels employees. 
  • Oversee development of content for all internal channels including the Intranet (CONNECT), email, video, digital screens and online newsletters 
  • Develop and distribute system wide employee communications from executives and business areas. 
  • Support change management strategies and tactics that will ensure the engagement of various stakeholder groups across the organization. 
  • Partner with the Director of Internal Communications to spearhead internal communications initiatives. 
  • Source, develop and write articles for Intranet. 
  • Build relationships across the institution to enhance professional image of and support for internal communications. Additional ad hoc projects as needed.

Maintain Editorial Calendar:

  • Maintain an annual editorial calendar of internal communications and employee events 
  • In partnership with the Director of Internal Communications, design and deliver communications for events such as town halls and conferences. (Deliverables include presentations, written messages, and talking points for leadership.) 
  • Collaborate with colleagues across all functional areas to develop and deliver timely, complementary internal communications messages as they may relate to important external news, advertising, or external publications.

Vendor Relationships:

  • Manage vendor relationships as needed and provide direction to ensure that outsourced projects are delivered on time and on budget.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in communications, Journalism or English 
  • 6 years of corporate communications experience for global organization (including at least 2 years in internal communications). 
  • Experience with multiple departments and geographically dispersed franchised employee population a plus. 
  • Experience with change management and employee engagement initiatives. 
  • Effectively communicate with and maintain productive relationships with employees from all levels within a highly collaborative environment. 
  • Possess excellent writing and editing skills and able to apply and adhere to editorial guidelines. 
  • Proficient with Photoshop, Microsoft Office 365, and Mail Chimp a plus. 
  • Experience with video script writing and video production a plus. 
  • Comfortable with various technologies and communications platforms. 
  • Big-picture thinker with strong organizational skills, clear vision, an analytical mind and results driven. 
  • Able to juggle multiple assignments and deliver high quality results in a rapidly evolving environment. 
  • Agile, nimble, flexible to changing schedules, deadlines, and work requests.
