Do you want to make an impact and lead communications for True Value Company. We are looking for a Communications Manager to provide thought leadership for all communication platforms.

The Communications Manager is responsible for the development of content messaging for all internal and external communications platforms. This role will include executive communications, retailer updates, community management and other business function communications. Must be able to develop communication strategies that contribute to sales growth and retailer engagement. The Communications Manager will also facilitate the development, integration and dissemination of company messaging and news for True Values’ network of independent retailers and associates. Requires a strategic mindset that allows for quick and effective writing and distribution of important company communications.

Responsibilities (May perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned).

  • Develops and executes innovative and seamless internal communications strategies, messaging and tactics that engage True Value’s retailers and associates. Leverages True Value's intranet channels and other vehicles to ensure critical communications are received and viewed. 
  • Writes and edits materials, including press releases, emails, media alerts, and social media content. Develops executive messaging and coordinates interviews between senior leaders and the external media, providing counsel, messaging support and media training, as needed. 
  • Determines new campaign program objectives, establishes and tracks metrics, understands variances and makes program decisions based on results. Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure campaigns and strategies are generating planned engagement and return on investment (ROI). Monitors the marketplace, competitive landscape, industry trends, and third-party data sources to constantly identify new communications opportunities and / or potential threats. Evaluates emerging content and communications platforms for campaign optimization and efficiencies. 
  • Working with the Wholesale Marketing Team, develops a monthly communications calendar outlining critical announcements, updates, target audiences and channels to be leveraged to reach True Value’s customers. 
  • Builds strategic relationships with internal business partners and utilizes concise messaging for complex information vital to creating communication that supports Company vision and drives associate engagement. 
  • Balances multiple highly visible projects on time and within budget.

Education & Experience:

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in Advertising, Communications and Marketing, 
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). 
  • Experience with InDesign and Content Management Systems preferred. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or Communications or equivalent work experience.
