The communications manager is responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of assigned internal communications initiatives for Home & Community. This team member will proactively manage assigned aspects of internal communications, increase, and sustain employee engagement, ensuring team members understand their critical role in delivering unsurpassed service and have a strong sense of pride in the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements strategic and tactical plans for internal communications initiatives that are aligned with Home & Community’s overall communications efforts 
  • Deliver on consistent messaging, using standard communications procedures and programs that effectively support and advance our reputation and business goals 
  • Manages the process of gathering content, writing, editing, and securing approval for assigned internal communications including memos, intranet, Yammer, presentations, leader meetings, all employee town halls, etc. 
  • Works with Home & Community leadership to evaluate ongoing and long-term communications opportunities 
  • Seeks and promotes new avenues for internal communications efforts 
  • Proactively builds effective relationships and positive communication with business leaders, chief of staff and executive assistants 
  • Collaborates with Home & Community communications team to ensure messages are aligned and accurate 
  • Develop a strong network of trusted relationships across the business in a matrixed environment to engage appropriate internal and enterprise partners to deliver results 
  • Champions Home & Community brand standards in all internal communications 
  • Adheres to Associated Press Style Stylebook and our Home & Community style guide

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or related professional experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in communications and project management 
  • Experience working with Sr Leaders 
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans for internal communications initiatives 
  • Proficient in working with full suite of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Ability and willing to travel several times per year

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work autonomously, and are self-motivated 
  • Advanced oral and written presentation and facilitation skills, suitable for executive leadership level 
  • Reside in MN and work out of Corp Office or Hybrid
