The Association represents banks of all sizes from banks in rural Wisconsin to the state's largest financial institution in Green Bay.

The Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA) is looking for a high-energy communications manager with experience handling both internal and external business communication. The ideal candidate will be eager to serve the members of a premier state-wide trade association through their ability to deliver content in a wide variety of media.

Essential Duties:

  • Create informative and timely member content in a wide variety of media for WBA and its subsidiaries
  • Plan, direct, and implement the day-to-day internal and external publicity and earned media efforts in coordination with WBA’s management team and prepare media activity reports
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build member programs, brand awareness, and customer satisfaction
  • Serve as a writer and managing editor for all WBA publications to guarantee all content is accurate, publication-ready, and published in a timely manner
  • Work with WBA’s advocacy, education, and member services areas on consistent messaging for public policy, trade conferences, and other projects
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with local, state, regional, national, and trade press
  • Provide direct executive level consultation on internal and external communications, sensitive issues, public relations and media outreach
  • Serve as the WBA liaison to the Financial Crimes Committee
  • Limited travel and overnights required

Requirements:

  • Strong communication, writing, editing, and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to craft a message and generate earned media
  • Experience creating targeted content that generates measurable ROI
  • Ability to learn software, strong computer skills including proficiency in and Microsoft Teams
  • Knowledge of CMS such as WordPress or Umbraco, and web analytics
  • At least 5 years of experience in Communications, journalism, marketing or similar field

In addition, the ideal candidate would have the following attributes:

  • Professional or working knowledge of Hubspot
  • Curious about how business gets done and policy gets created in Wisconsin
  • Enjoys working with people
  • Managed a high-performing team
  • Creatively uses technology to connect with people and solve problems
  • Good story teller

Salary range is $75,000-$80,000 depending upon experience.  Date of hire benefits available.
