We are looking for an experienced Communications Manager responsible for planning, implementing, and executing the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce’s marketing and communications activities. You will implement marketing strategies to communicate the impact and value of organization activities, create and distribute content promoting member businesses and nonprofit organizations to targeted audiences, and raise public awareness of organization activities and impact. You will be responsible for marketing strategies attracting prospective members, utilizing communication channels and platforms to promote organization members and partners, and managing the public image and reputation of the organization. You will execute marketing and content plans and inform organization leadership and stakeholders on progress and performance. Your goal is to attract prospective members, leverage organization communications platforms and assets deliver marketing value to existing members, and communicate the impact and outcomes of organization programs and services.

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in shaping the way our company is perceived by key audiences. You will drive brand awareness by being involved in all stages of the communications process from concept to message development to result oriented evaluation

Responsibilities:

  • Create, implement and oversee internal and external communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its programs and services 
  • Develop and execute member marketing programs to include recruitment and retention efforts and program and service offerings
  • Manage and optimize marketing and communications channels including websites, social media platforms, and content management systems
  • Develop PR and external comms strategies in partnership with business leads to advance business objectives
  • Coordinate the production of promotional materials including releases, media kits, and presentations
  • Use social media to tell our story in creative and inspiring ways that resonate with various audiences
  • Manage website content and design to ensure delivery of clear and creative content
  • Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements
  • Provide feedback on program progress and resolve complex problems 
  • Ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines, funding compliance requirements, and internal policies
  • Keep senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports and presentations
  • Proven experience in marketing, communications, or public relations positions
  • 5+ years' of experience in communications operations 
  • Experience posting and formatting content using a Content Management System (CMS) 
  • A business acumen with a strategic ability 
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills 
  • An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities 
  • Experience working with not for profits 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary: $55,000/year
