In this role, you will be responsible for leading complex communication projects for the Attorney General's Office, writing and editing materials for media, creating informational materials for programs covering diverse and complex subject matter for multiple audiences and stakeholder groups; managing social media; and coordinating media event logistics. 

In coordination with the Communications Director, this position also splits ‘on call’ time to assist in critical incident response and local law enforcement communications needs, regardless of time of day or day of the week.

Minimally qualified applicants must have training, education, or work experience with:

  • Creating informational pieces for internal and external audiences (i.e. fact sheets, speeches, web sites, social media content and/or correspondence).
  • Working with program experts to research and write customer focused materials. Developing web content using Microsoft Office Suite, graphic design tools and presentation tools such as Drupal, Google Analytics, Adobe etc.
  • Managing calendars and scheduling logistics for others (e.g. scheduling meetings, appointments and travel).
  • Responding to inquiries and requests from members of the public.

Well qualified applicants will also have experience:

  • Leading/managing the development and implementation of communication plans for an organization.
  • Directing the social media programs for either an entire organization or part of an organization with video and design expertise.
  • Working with high level stakeholders such as appointed or elected officials, CEOs, Communication Directors, Executive Directors etc.
  • Working with members of the media.

Starting hourly wage for this position is between $30.83 and $40.15 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits.
