Are you passionate about history and connecting people through storytelling? Do you enjoy working with historical collections and creating metadata to support archival artifacts and content? If so, this position offers an exciting opportunity for you.

Overview:

The Communications Specialist – Archives role will support the KOHLER Archives team and their ever-growing collection by operating as a processing archivist. Primary responsibilities will include accessioning, processing and preserving of material in the archives collection. The collection includes a wide variety of formats including artifacts, blueprints, images, negatives, born-digital, and paper-based collections.

  • Support content development for Kohler websites that highlight the company’s robust heritage and historical impact
  • Help evaluate items recommended for possible addition to the KOHLER Archives collection. If appropriate, describe, arrange and preserve for future reference.
  • Provide tours of the archives space for associates and external customers. 
  • Evaluate, research, and respond to research requests. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in areas of content development, project management and special events.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in history or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • 2+ years of experience in an archives or museum 
  • Positive, high-energy collaborator 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a high-paced environment. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

The salary range for this position is $55,400 - $69,250. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
