Your Role:

We are seeking a Senior Communications Specialist who will work directly with our Global Practice Area Leaders, specifically in our Work Sector, to drive an internal and external communications strategy that supports the mission of our firm. In this role you would partner with our Practice Area teams across the globe, as well as our Firmwide Marketing and Public Relations teams and the Gensler Research Institute.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for communications management supporting Practice Area Leaders on: Practice Area point of view materials, Practice Area trends, research and thought leadership, project benchmarking, special initiatives, 
  • Support content development and curate thought leadership and key project stories for internal and external communications. This would including impact stories, future forecasting, future of work strategies, workplace experience, future of cities initiatives 
  • Partner with Firmwide Public Relations team and Global Practice Area Leaders to develop a conference strategy and thought leadership approach for speaking engagements 
  • Partner with Global PA Leaders to develop and execute thought leadership for speaking engagements and publications 
  • Develop Gensler.com blogging strategy aligned with the firm’s Thought Leadership Calendar; develop employee advocacy program for Global PA Leaders to amplify key messages across their social media channels 
  • Develop and execute a conference call strategy to maintain connectivity between the Global PA Leaders, which includes developing agendas, coordinating the calls; capturing and circulating the call content 
  • Partner with Global Practice Area Leaders to develop key materials for internal firm meetings, including presentations, videos and printed materials 
  • Act as connective tissue with the firm to find and share the best-of in internal external research, PA best practices, benchmarks, thought leadership, top talent, and client relationship insights 
  • Lead a process to curate and package the best-of content from the Practice Areas including project proof statements 
  • Act as a conduit on Practice Area initiatives with Regions and Office Leadership teams 
  • Work with Practice Areas in the development of annual strategic plans including research on emerging market opportunities, potential new clients, competitor analysis 
  • Ensure innovative storytelling practices are adopted and messaging refined to convey a differentiated approach 
  • Support the LinkedIn presence of Global Practice Area Leaders by developing strategic content for their accounts to drive their market presence and increase followership 
  • Coordinate Practice Area talent tracking and recruitment initiatives

Your Qualifications:

  • 8 to 11 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, commercial architecture/interior design, advertising or brand strategy 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred in Communications, Business, Digital Media or Marketing 
  • Experience in the design industry, specifically with a workplace focus, is a plus 
  • Ability to be a self-starter, and work both independently and collaboratively, prioritizing multiple complex projects and initiatives at one time 
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, as necessary 
  • An abiding attention to detail and ability to lead projects effectively under tight deadlines 
  • Keen design sensibility evident in all work product; graphic design experience is a plus 
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills, project management and time management skills; executive presence 
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide range of senior leadership located in our offices across the globe 
  • Consensus builder and facilitator across a matrixed organization

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud and Pardot a plus 
  • Knowledge of and/or proficiency in Tableau a plus
