Communications Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a Communications Specialist to work within our fast-paced, energetic environment. This role will develop and implement a strategic internal communications plan so that the workforce stays informed, motivated, and inspired. The role is a passionate storyteller driven to support the greater good of our team and their families. The position will be successful if our team members can easily seek the information they need, are inspired to participate in company initiatives and events, and want to recommend their peers to work at the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Expected Results:

• Develop effective monthly internal content calendars that can be shared across all internal communication platforms - internal announcements, newsletters, employee app posts, and presentations. 
• Create a KPI dashboard within the first 60 days to measure the effectiveness of all internal communication efforts monthly. 
• Hunt for the best stories and highlight them throughout the organization. Examples include team member success stories, safety and wellness programs, sustainability initiatives, and department updates. 
• Increase awareness around external commercial activities with our internal workforce including updates on product launches, campaigns, case studies, and market insights so our teammates understand their contribution to our market and customers. 
• Actively promote the M2S brand and share our stories throughout Fox Valley to bolster our company image and employee recruitment.

Supporting Activities:

• Support the HR team in their effort to increase employee referrals through internal communication efforts. 
• Design on-brand communications, announcements, flyers, and other communication tools that promote upcoming events. Examples include career fairs, safety and wellness events, and leadership training sessions. 
• Take charge of hosting the Thermal School and Print Media School events, which occur three times a year. 
• Other duties, as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing communications, or related field with 3-5 years of relevant experience. 
• Proven success in outlining and executing data-driven, strategic internal communication strategies. 
• Proficiencies in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), SharePoint, Outlook, and preferably HubSpot Marketing Tools. 
• Must be self-directed and proactive. 
• Core Competencies – verbal and written communication, creativity, influence, flexibility, business acumen.
