As a communications specialist for Cat Electronics, you will be a trusted partner to leaders and subject matter experts who are developing innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology used in products across Caterpillar’s portfolio. You will work on both strategic communications planning and execution, for example, managing all-employee meetings, external communications approvals, and executive presentation content. You will support the three Cat Electronics vice presidents, whose teams are focused on developing electronic components and systems for all Caterpillar products. This role will give you broad exposure to the Caterpillar teams behind emerging technologies. In addition, this person will work closely with the lead event planner on coordination of employee engagement events in Mossville. You will be part of a strong team of communicators who are collaborative and supportive and who have a wide array of skills.

Basic qualifications:

  • This position requires a college or university degree with a focus on communications, marketing, journalism or a related field. 
  • 5 – 7 years of job-related experience is required, preferably internal communications experience at a global company. 
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to listen, learn and develop clear, concise and accurate messages for a variety of audiences. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop strong relationships inside and outside of the division. 
  • Ability to consult and advise on communication strategy, tactics and the best approach to achieve results. 
  • Expert at developing and implementing internal communications strategy. 
  • Strong project management skills and organization, with the ability to prioritize projects and requests and meet established deadlines. 
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality about projects and technologies.

Top candidates will also have:

  • Strong experience with visual messaging such as design and video editing. 
  • An interest in learning about the cutting-edge technologies of Caterpillar. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, in which attention to detail and team alignment are expected. 
  • Experience working with global and diverse leader and employee populations. 
  • Experience with social media (desired but not required).
