About the Opportunity:

The Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role as part of Ceridian’s high-performing Employee Communications Team. Their primary role will be to create engaging content and drive employee awareness and understanding of Ceridian’s strategy and ongoing transformation. They will help execute educational, inspiring, and engaging communications through multiple channels. This work will be done in close partnership with internal business units from across the organization to support the development of communications strategies, compelling communications materials, and delivery of targeted communications.

The successful candidate has a passion for internal communications and employee engagement. They will have a strong attention to detail, with proven expertise developing content that resonates with their intended audiences. They are a collaborative, engaged, and a driven team player.

What you'll get to do:

  • Assist in the development and execution of a global communications strategy, ensuring integration with individual business units and corporate strategies. 
  • Work collaboratively with subject matter experts in other departments to execute effective internal communications plans and content that support specific programs and overall business goals. 
  • Build and foster relationships with key partners across the organization. 
  • Exhibit initiative, proactively recommending story ideas and tactics for multiple channels. 
  • Write, edit, and publish e-newsletter stories, web copy, key messages, presentations, speeches, video scripts, and other messages, ensuring deadlines are met. 
  • Work closely with and support the Senior Manager, Employee Communications, on the creation of internal communications plans and maintenance of editorial calendars. 
  • Uphold communications best practices: content, approaches and distribution vehicles.
  • Support measurement, including monthly tracking of e-newsletters and overall leaders and employee engagement. 
  • Independently own communications plans and provide schedules, milestones and status updates to communications leadership and key partners. 
  • Provide support to the wider communications team as needed.

Skills and Experience we value:

  • Three to five years in a corporate communications or agency environment. 
  • Bachelor’s degree (communications, journalism, English or business degree preferred); post-graduate certificate in corporate communications or public relations. 
  • Critical thinker and self-starter with strong organizational and information-gathering skills. 
  • Compelling writer, editor and proofreader, able to adapt styles depending on audience and communications channel. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work well with internal stakeholders. 
  • Self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively to prioritize competing demands and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Familiarity with web content development and administration 
  • Experience with tools used to author and post multiple content types, including HTML, Adobe, and Content Management Systems. 
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities with exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.
