Under broad guidance, this position contributes as an internal communications partner for individual business areas. Recommends, develops and publishes communications assets for assigned business areas to be leveraged across multiple internal communications channels. In addition to partnering with assigned business areas, collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop and manage enterprise-wide editorial content strategy for the company intranet site.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

  • Creates modern, compelling content for assigned business areas across multiple channels, including email, newsletters, intranet, video, internal events and more.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of communication strategies for assigned business areas.
  • Consults and supports leaders of assigned business areas for internal meetings, including agenda setting, content creation, presentation preparation and logistical support.
  • Manages the enterprise-wide editorial calendar for all internal communications across the enterprise for the company intranet site.
  • Identifies opportunities for the Internal Communications team to develop, publish and promote original content across various internal communications channels.
  • Partners with the Digital Experience team to evaluate success of the company intranet site. Creates a business case for any design changes and editorial content suggestions that will enhance employee engagement.
  • Contributes to the Internal Communications team’s operational excellence objectives, including consistency, efficiency, timeliness and quality.
  • Leverages feedback, metrics and industry insights to continuously refine strategies and communication plans, ensuring alignment with business needs and maximizing impact.
  • Stays current on trends and developments within the communications field.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Solid business acumen, knowledge of the assigned business area(s), with the ability to effectively develop communications to support business goals.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise content that is appropriate for various target audiences.
  • Creative, visual storyteller with a passion for creating content for various internal communication channels.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with business partners and peers.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated team player.
  • Works well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, preferably in insurance.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field.
  • Typically a minimum of three to five years of related experience.
