The Communications Specialist is responsible for helping implement and drive the internal communications strategy for Coloplast’s North America and Global Interventional Urology businesses, along with community relations and employer brand strategies for Coloplast North America, which strengthen Coloplast’s brand, reputation, and leadership – both in region and the employment marketplace.

The multi-faceted position reports to the Head of Communications for North America / Global IU. As a member of the Corporate Communications team, you will play a key role by deploying communications strategies and providing guidance and support for a variety of programs, including implementing strategic communication plans, writing and editing various communications, managing internal and external communications metrics, leading employee-facing community relations activities, delivering on employer brand activities, and supporting corporate communications with crisis situations.

In this role, you will also partner and collaborate with the Global Communication Team on various initiatives.

Major Areas of Accountability:

Internal Communications

  • Support consistent communication about NA and Global IU news, events and priorities and reflect the organization’s strategic vision and values. 
  • Develop and produce employee correspondences, videos, articles, newsletters and presentations.
  • Manage and/or assist in the development of communication vehicles and activities such as large-scale meetings, newsletters, and intranet. 
  • Measure communication trends and effectiveness via annual survey. 
  • Assist in communications skills training, as needed.

Community Relations

  • Implement and manage employee-facing aspects of the North America community relations strategy. 
  • Drive stronger internal awareness of Coloplast as an active and contributing member of the community – and drive engagement in various activities.

Employer Brand

  • Develop employer brand content for the organization’s social media outlets using ERG and Top Workplace collateral.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR, English, Journalism, or Marketing 
  • Strong knowledge of AP Style writing and editing 
  • 4-6 years of corporate communications or communications agency experience 
  • Success developing employee and stakeholder communications 
  • Creative thinker and writer 
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders 
  • Comfort working with highly visible senior leaders and their teams 
  • Enjoy interacting with different cultures and being part of a global company

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven understanding of communications best practices and ability to integrate them seamlessly into a complex business environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail is a must 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word and PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Live 
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines 
  • High comfort level in speaking to large audiences (e.g., assisting to facilitate a live online townhall or virtually hosting other large meetings
