GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position assists the Director of Marketing & Communication with management, creation and execution of communications and content development for Delta Dental of Minnesota and its parent, Stratacor. This role will touch all aspects of the business through a broad spectrum of media relations, communications and content development strategies, including print, broadcast, digital and social media for multiple audiences and stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Core efforts will include development, management and execution of communications and content strategies that assist in providing internal and external stakeholders with information that helps support the mission, objectives and opportunities for Delta Dental of Minnesota, Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation, and their parent, Stratacor. 
  2. Develop annual—as well as time/project relevant—communications plan that includes multiple stakeholders and execute against this plan. 
  3. Responsible for community outreach that help share, promote and add to the public conversations surrounding oral health, overall health, dental benefits and the corporate and philanthropic efforts of the organization(s). 
  4. Identify specific and unique communication delivery channels and approaches; as well as set, establish and track metrics to monitor for effectiveness, efficiency and optimization of goals and desired outcomes. 
  5. Maintain effective brand voice management that contributes to community partnerships and employee and stakeholder engagement. 
  6. Oversee the planning and execution of online social mediums, including facebook, blog, twitter,youtube and Instagram. 
  7. Administer new content generation and social listening strategies. 
  8. Collaborate with colleagues in the marketing department to leverage functional expertise as well as with key leads across the company to ensure alignment and strategy. 
  9. Work closely in partnership with the Marketing team to advance and further social media efforts, reach and engagement. 
  10. Participate with Delta Dental Plan Association meetings and collaborate on oral content sharing practices. 
  11. Ability to assist with project management and execution of various marketing and communications tactics including, but not limited to, presentations, web content, electronic communications, print collateral, events, videos, interactive and social media. 
  12. Additional projects and marketing related activities as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Must be a strong collaborator that is able to work independently and as part of a team. 
  2. Enjoys managing multiple projects and executing on a wide range of communications tactics. 
  3. Strong written and editing skills for a variety of media types required. 
  4. Ability to develop highly effective relationships across both internal and external audiences. 
  5. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  6. Willingness to work outside of the regular 8-4:30 p.m. schedule as required by the position.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant communications related field. 
  2. 5 years of experience in strategic/corporate communications, public affairs, or related field. 
  3. Health care or insurance related communications experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Travel Requirements: Minimal 
  2. Weight Lifting Requirements: Up to 30 lbs.

RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. Reports To: Director of Marketing & Communication
  2. Internal Relationships: Marketing, Sales, Operations, Provider Relations, Community Benefits, Legal, and Human Resources.
  3. External Relationships: Audience stakeholders include: current and potential customers/members, benefit decision makers, brokers/agents, provider partners, key clients, agencies and partners. This position works closely with key vendors that provide support or implementation of technologies, services or support.
