Founded in 2010 as the Dairy Business Milk Marketing Cooperative, Edge has advanced to one of the top cooperatives in the country in terms of milk volume represented.

Edge fulfills requirements of the Federal Milk Marketing Orders as a verification cooperative for dairy farmers, while also providing representation on federal policies that affect members and collaboration with other agriculture stakeholders.

Overview:

In this position, you’ll contribute to compelling marketing and communications campaigns for the Dairy Business Association, Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative, Minnesota Milk Producers Association and Farmers for Sustainable Food by coordinating thought-provoking storytelling and imagery to promote the groups’ brands, explain advocacy positions and enhance the image of members.

  • Assist with media requests for information and foster media relationships 
  • Monitor news on social media and other platforms and respond to misinformation when necessary 
  • Repurpose relevant content from outside for use on social media and in e-newsletters 
  • Coordinate print and e-newsletter 
  • Participate in crisis communications when necessary 
  • Design, photography & video experience a plus 
  • Serve as backup for website updates 
  • Collaborate to learn best practices, share ideas and leverage content and campaigns. 
  • Assist with event communications and logistics 
  • Assist with member recruitment communications and campaigns 
  • Coordinate member webinars (setup, recording and distribution) 
  • Assist with new employee onboarding tasks 
  • Manage contact databases with other staff for campaigns 
  • Effectively use analytics to measure campaign and social reach 
  • Attend events as needed 
  • Manage communications team projects using Asana Project Management Software. 
  • Work with team to assign roles, establish deadlines, execute projects

Education:

Associate’s Degree, in Business and/or Communications field (or equivalent) preferred, or equivalent of 4+ years verifiable experience in position with similar duties.

Prior experience with in Agriculture preferred.

  • Acute attention to detail 
  • Technical command of digital platforms 
  • Written and visual storytelling ability 
  • Graphic design experience a plus SEO, CMS management experience a plus 
  • Photography/videography experience a plus 
  • Drone experience, certification a plus 
  • Currently/willing to become competent in: Adobe InDesign, Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro Asana Project Management 
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.) 
  • Sprout Social 
  • YourMembership or other CMS platforms
