Your Responsibilities:

As a Communications Specialist for John Deere Harvester Works located in East Moline, IL, you will:

  • Develop and produce short videos for internal employee audience 
  • Create visually engaging graphics for both physical and digital signage 
  • Research, write, and edit communication materials for use in various media to support the overall communication strategies of the Business Unit. 
  • Plan, edit, and manage publications or other communication products at the Business Unit level. 
  • Provides communications support to departments, groups, and managers to assist in identifying communication needs and messages, and to develop appropriate communication plans that support the Enterprise, Business Unit, and Department objectives.

What Skills You Need:

  • Experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite) 
  • Create, edit, and assemble videofootage into a finished project that matches vision and is suitable for broadcasting 
  • Knowledge of layout/design for both print publications and online. 
  • Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge. 
  • Understanding of photography and photo editing. 
  • Knowledge of the communication planning process and measurement techniques. 
  • Understanding of communication theories, especially employee/internal communications. 
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus intranet and internet functions.

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Experience with photo and video editing software 
  • Excellent writing skills with ability to find stories and turn them into short articles

Education:

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, with focus on graphic design or video production or 2 years of related work experience
