The Position:

The Communications Specialist supports the Thought Leadership team, Marketing department, and consulting practices in development, review, refinement, distribution, and tracking of internal and external communications. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple projects from multiple internal and external stakeholders, have a good eye for visual and verbal detail, and closely monitor and meet deadlines.

The Job Involves:

  • Working directly with Kaufman Hall leadership, Thought Leadership contributors, and Marketing teams to develop content and formats for regular internal executive communications. These will include HR and IT updates, committee support, emails, all-staff meetings, and other mediums 
  • Developing articles and reports in concert with Kaufman Hall subject matter experts and with Thought Leadership and Marketing teams as needed 
  • Providing support to public relations and media activities as needed 
  • Working with Thought Leadership and Marketing teams on any repurposing of content—for example, webinars

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • 5+ years of communications experience in healthcare or related fields 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects 
  • Ability to write and communicate clearly and concisely, in addition to editing for clarity and correctness 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage all levels of seniority 
  • Commitment to execution and attention to detail 
  • Ability to build trust and work collaboratively, partnering with senior leadership on shared initiatives 
  • Ability to write substantively about healthcare 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint 
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency Required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, Journalism, Communications or related field, or equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations. 
  • Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. 
  • Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Work Environment:

  • Travel Required: 0%
  • The role is primarily remotely based, with the need to come to the Chicago or Skokie office a few times per month. 
  • Work is regularly performed in a combination of home office and in office settings, and routinely uses standard office equipment.
