Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

The Communications Specialist will be part of an integrated Marketing team comprised of Marketing, Communications (internal and external) and Industry Events & Conferences to implement the organization’s external communications and messaging strategy in support of the company’s growth strategy, brand evolution and culture. This dynamic communications professional will play a key role in identifying and telling compelling stories and support the broader communications needs across a range of internal stakeholders. The candidate will 1) deliver continuous improvement to our content strategy, processes and governance efforts, and 2) support and further SCA’s mission, vision and values, including key culture programs. 3) Implement an external communications strategy across channels including media, conferences an industry events, digital and other mediums. 4) Support the rolling launch campaign of SCA’s soon-to-be launched new brand/logo.

An indicator of the teammate’s success is an ability to build strong relationships with the team and across a variety of key stakeholder groups and have the ability to adeptly navigate a decentralized organization. Creativity, a willingness to learn new strategies and approaches, and to coordinate closely with peers and functions within the Marketing team will be critical.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Create original content (written, video, audio, visual) and/or editing content. Become the voice ofSCA’s and its leadership team through compelling storytelling that grabs audiences and inspires listening and understanding 
  • Co-manage SCA’s agency partners and further establishing a formal content governance process and calendar 
  • Identifies and executes ways and methods to improve the rolling launch campaign of SCA’s soon-to-be launched new brand throughout the year and find opportunities to inform audiences of SCA’s new business model, evolution and industry leadership 
  • Co-manage agency relationships for communications, marketing and digital materials. 
  • Support DIBs and other cultural efforts to unify teammates and foster acceptance and support around SCA’s solidarity statement; support evolved DIBs programming with the company’s new Diversity & Inclusion director. 
  • Acts as a resource across the organization, serving as the go-to person and owner of campaigns and activities
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required 
  • 3-5 years of communications marketing experience 
  • Must be an analytical thinker with the ability to understand a wide-range of business topics and principles 
  • Healthcare experience is preferred but not required; willing to gain expertise in the ASC space 
  • May work remotely anywhere in the U.S. with the ability to travel as needed, up to 5x per year. 
  • Strong writing skills for business and culture communications 
  • Some knowledge of business and communications platforms and/or the ability to learn new and adopt emerging technologies
