Visitation School is seeking a full-time Communications Specialist to support and enhance Visitation School's communications and marketing initiatives to maximize engagement with key constituencies. Assist with the implementation of multiple communications initiatives and provide a wide range of project support to the Communications Department. Assist with the creation, editing, and distribution of compelling content across several of the school's channels including: website, social media, school magazine, collateral, advertising and other media outlets. Visitation's Communication Specialist reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support School-wide Communications

  • Assist with the execution of the school's communication and marketing plans. 
  • Assist with the school's website communications including soliciting, writing, proofing and publishing approved web content that is timely, accurate, compelling and relevant. 
  • Manage social media efforts, in conjunction with Director, including creating social media calendar, posting and managing social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc. 
  • Collaborate with the Director to produce and distribute electronic newsletters. 
  • Capture, utilize and archive photographs and video of campus events, student life, etc.
  • Manage internal communications including indoor monitors, school bulletin and outdoor electronic sign. 
  • Create multimedia presentations for school events 
  • Advise student groups on media and communication strategy. 
  • Promote Visitation by assisting with press releases and follow up with media outlets. 
  • Organize and maintain electronic files of Visitation logos and graphics; serve as a point person for release of those images.

Website Support

  • Maintain the school's website including design, structure, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing plans, portals, registrations and events. 
  • Manage constituent information 
  • Run and compile site statistical reports on a monthly basis. 
  • Annual import and set-up of master calendar 
  • Assist with the annual school family data collection and import updated information to web database (automated process).

Additional Duties:

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for scheduled events 
  • Other items as needed

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in communications, content management systems, social media, digital marketing, and/or graphic design. A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or similar field preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google as well as Adobe Creative Cloud. Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
