Description Summary:

Administer functions and coordinate projects necessary to successfully carry out the corporation's community relations strategic plan. Manage and coordinate the corporate contribution management process and department financial and record retention functions. Coordinate and execute highly visible community relations sponsorships, events and projects.

Accountabilities:

  1. Oversee the corporate contribution management process including the use of specialized software for contribution and sponsorship administration. Recommend and make changes to the process to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. 
  2. Execute the corporate contribution management process including triaging, screening, request tracking, coding, payment processing, sponsor recognition, correspondence and reporting. 
  3. Coordinate Blue Cross' Dollars for Doers employee volunteer recognition process including application administration and approval, payment processing, coding, correspondence and reporting. 
  4. Administer the cost center's financial functions including its budget, vendor contracts, check requests and invoice payment. Assist in budget formulation. Work with the cost center controller to monitor and prepare reports. 
  5. Maintain community relations records according to established retention procedures. 
  6. Carry out tasks associated with highly visible community sponsorships, events and projects. Work with team members, consultants, volunteers and community agencies to provide pre-event advice; plan and coordinate logistics and arrange for materials and displays. Assist with evaluation and reporting. 
  7. Other duties as assigned including ordering supplies, coordinating space and facility needs, scheduling, monitoring the community hot line and material distribution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications or related field and 3 years of administrative experience or 7 years of related experience in lieu of a degree. 
  • Ability to comprehend and articulate corporate community relations objectives, strategies, tactics and desired outcomes. 
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently as well as cooperatively in a team setting. 
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple projects under tight time frames. 
  • Literate in Microsoft word, excel, access and PowerPoint. 
  • Experience with MicroEdge Gifts for Windows or other contribution management software desirable. 
  • Well-developed oral, interpersonal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to establish positive relationships and negotiate with key contacts, both internally and externally.
