Overview:

A Consultant (presentation specialist/graphic designer) within Creative Services supports development of innovative and engaging design of BCBSA presentation and report communications.  They must be a strategic and critical thinker with proven ability in data visualization and creating well-developed graphics to communicate ideas that inform and captivate the project’s target audience. Builds internal and external relationships with clients to determine project scope and messaging. Advise on design strategies to enhance communication effectiveness. In a fast-paced environment, executes projects in a timely manner from ideation to production while adhering to deadlines and Brand standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participates in the development of innovative and creative presentation solutions and business reports design that communicate clearly and effectively to intended audiences. 
  • Provide sound and professional recommendations to clients on design and data visualization that meet client needs. 
  • Assists the creative team by taking on additional design projects as needed and provides production support to move those projects to completion. 
  • Interact with clients including BCBSA employees/senior leadership, to understand business needs, build relationships and manage client satisfaction. 
  • Support BCBS Brand through adhering to brand guidelines and standards, and appropriate use of brand assets (images, icons, colors and fonts) in design work. 
  • Leads projects of moderate scope including concept development, design execution and client relations.

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (e.g., graphic design, visual communications, digital communications, multi-media) or combination of education and experience 
  • A minimum of 5 years related business experience 
  • Proficient in applications including Microsoft Office, Keynote, and Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Understanding of modern digital media and design technologies and platforms 
  • Comfortable in working on both Mac and PC platforms

Preferred Basic Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with health financing industry and concepts 
  • Strong design aesthetic in layout, composition, typography and color usage 
  • Experience creating dynamic design solutions for PowerPoint presentations, Word documents/reports 
  • Able to interpret complex data into visually engaging, easy-to-understand graphics 
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with multiple levels of business stakeholders to understand and interpret business requirements for the creation of communication collaterals
