Job Summary

The Content Manager creates, edits, and publishes content related to AI research and activities taking place at the Center for Applied AI across a variety of media including text, video, images, and illustrations. This role is a significant contributor to the science communications outreach of the Center and holds domain knowledge specific to applied AI.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the science communications team in developing and executing a comprehensive content strategy aligned with Center objectives.
  • Creates, edits, and publishes high-quality content across multiple formats, such as text, video, images, illustrations, explaining complex AI concepts to various audiences.
  • Collaborates with AI faculty and researchers to accurately translate technical concepts into accessible, engaging content.
  • Ensures reliable execution of editorial calendar across relevant channels, including website, social media, newsletters, etc.
  • Stays current on applied AI research and trends, content strategies, and emerging formats to maintain thought leadership.
  • Coordinates with internal teams to ensure visual and interactive assets complement written content effectively.
  • Analyzes content performance metrics to optimize engagement and refine content strategy.
  • Develops marketing communications, advertising, or publicity materials with a moderate level of guidance from others. Develops, plans, and coordinates the development and production of marketing and publicity materials and campaigns, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Performs one or more of the following marketing functions: marketing communications /advertising; Web blogs or digital marketing; market research; development or review and update of the marketing infrastructure and management of external sales agency relationships.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Learn and adapt to new technological platforms and tools.
  • Deep familiarity with context and discourse related to applied AI.

Preferred Competencies

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as organizational skills.
  • Work independently with little supervision; possess a self-motivated disposition; identify opportunities for improvement and recommend effective changes, all while achieving key objectives resulting in desired outcomes.
  • Handle multiple detailed tasks/projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, as well as with students, faculty and corporate contacts in a multitude of communication methods, including in-person, email, and phone.
  • Professional demeanor, including tact, discretion, and a customer service-oriented approach.

Pay Range

$55,000.00 - $62,000.00

The included pay rate or range represents the University’s good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting.
