Summary:

As part of the content team within marketing, the Content Marketing Communications Manager or Content MarCom Manager, will be first and foremost a writer in charge of developing numerous types of marketing content, including white papers, case studies, website copy, brochures, blogs, and articles. Reporting to and working with the Director of Content Strategy the MarCom Manager will own projects related to the three main areas of marketing’s focus: lead generation, brand building, and sales support.

The Content MarCom Manager will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills in addition to the ability to proactively manage multiple assignments simultaneously from start to finish. He or she will have excellent skills when it comes to collaborating with others and refining projects so that they are well-written, on-message, delivered on time, and consistent with the Spok style guidelines and AP style. Strong copywriting and editing skills are essential as is the ability to take constructive criticism as projects move through the review process and need to be refined. This person should be a go-getter with excellent project management skills and the ability to be proactive and push projects through the pipeline, even when obstacles arise. The ideal candidate will have experience writing about the healthcare industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Support creation and maintenance of compelling marketing materials for the healthcare industry

  • Collaborate with product management and others to ensure effective communication of how Spok solutions are beneficial to various roles within the healthcare segment (C-level, clinical, etc.).
  • Creat eclear, compelling content such as white papers, case studies, website text, promotional email copy, product brochures/datasheets, blog posts, corporate materials, customer communications, byline articles, news releases, etc.
  • Assist in the creation of visually appealing, concise PowerPoint presentations. A strong command of PowerPoint is important as is the ability to work with a design resource to effectively convey complex healthcare concepts.
  • Support other team members with copyediting for pieces they’ve created.
  • Work with internal and external design resources to finalize pieces in the proper format and in accordance with the Spok brand guidelines. 

Help develop and support the Spok buying journey strategy, including identifying content gaps and creating a roadmap for aligning new and existing content with the buying journey.

Develop materials for the Spok customer conference, Connect. This three-day event requires full marketing coordination for the printed brochure, app, session descriptions, presentations, and more. The marcom manager will be responsible for assisting with the creation of many of these materials, as well as attending and supporting the event itself.

As a manager, take the lead on projects and create high-level materials that position Spok as a market leader.

Be an active member of the high-performing, highly collaborative Spok marketing team. This means continually looking for new ways to do our jobs better, improve our materials, and support the sales team in their efforts.

Travel requirements are minimal but may include attending the annual Sales/Marketing conference, annual customer conference, relevant training, and possibly customer visits for videos or case studies.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and 5 years experience; or comparable experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. BA/MA in communications or marketing or related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience creating content for publication, print and digital advertisements, email communications, websites, blog content, product descriptions, white papers, case studies or other forms of communications. 
  • Experience in the healthcare or IT industry. 
  • Experience proactively managing multiple assignments simultaneously from start to finish. 
  • Strong copy writing and editing skills 
  • Previous project management experience. 
  • Experience with general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 
  • Associated Press (AP) style guide experience. 
  • To be considered for this role you must be located in Minnesota or be willing to relocate.
