JOB SUMMARY:

As the Content Marketing Manager for The Toro Company’s residential and contract landscape (RLC) division,you will work closely with business stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) and will develop deep knowledge of Toro’s RLC’s innovative product lines and audience information needs.

In this role, you will lead the creation and curation of content, working closely with copywriters, designers, editors and compliance SMEs, as well as a wide range of colleagues across the organization. You will oversee content development and content message maps/matrixes, from ideation and discovery research phases, through production and optimization.

The key accountabilities include: defining and implementing content frameworks and strategies in alignment with the overall digital experience and other offline content needs, personalization, tagging strategies, collaborating with and influencing stakeholders, establishing and managing a content management system, and creating content requirements and specifications for writers. The Content Marketing Manager uses metrics, research and other inputs to gauge content performance and optimization opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct the content and messaging hierarchy, content types, tone, voice and creative interpretation of content so it is on brand and aligned with marketing and business objectives. 
  • Lead content design, organization, taxonomy, navigation, site maps and information architecture, in collaboration with other UX experts. 
  • Lead and promote digital content strategy and content design, and the importance of bringing these into the agile process early. 
  • Contribute to writing and editing copy. 
  • Work closely with writers assigned to the work to help translate this direction into clear steps and goals to serve as a guide for them to create the content. 
  • Regularly audit content to identify gaps in quality, compliance, branding and standards. 
  • Keep a backlog of optimization opportunities and lead promotion of these at opportune times with the appropriate teams/team members. 
  • Lead efforts to identify new content/communication opportunities, repurpose existing content, and surface other creative ways to create more meaningful user experiences and efficient processes. 
  • Present clear, concise content strategies that help stakeholders make informed decisions about content. 
  • Lead efforts to ensure Toro RLC content is usable, findable, targeted by audience, aligned with best practices and business goals, and is developed with consideration of competitive analysis and research. 
  • Develop content matrices and (editorial) calendars to track and manage content updates.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • 7+ years of content strategy and management experience, preferably in a B2C environment. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Marketing or similar field. 
  • Experience creating multi-channel content strategies, content matrices, content inventories and personalization tagging plans. 
  • Clear, concise communicator with the ability to flex communication to audience. 
  • Proven success working with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, content reviewers, editors, legal and compliance, and user experience teams. 
  • Experience with all facets of digital content publishing and best practices. 
  • Must be extremely well-organized, capable of handling multiple details simultaneously, and able to easily move between strategic and tactical work. 
  • Experience with multiple, complex tools used for various phases of the content process. 
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

Salary: $95,000 - $115,000

Note: Salary commensurate with experience.
