Travel Wisconsin is seeking a creative, dynamic copywriter to elevate our brand. This versatile writer  will work closely with our creative team to develop and execute on projects that build and strengthen the Travel Wisconsin brand and inspire travelers to experience Wisconsin.

This position assists with written content for Travel Wisconsin’s consumer website, TravelWisconsin.com, it’s business to business websites and other marketing channels.

Duties include developing, writing, and editing content for digital and offline formats. This position works with in-house marketing, public relations, social media and customer service staff to assist in integration of marketing initiatives across digital and print content. An understanding of a variety of writing styles, digital content strategies, integrated communications and marketing practices is required. This is a project position.

Project positions are eligible for benefits including health insurance. The funding for this position is scheduled to end in September 30, 2023. The incumbent must be a Wisconsin resident.

This position is headquartered at the Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s office in Madison, WI (3319 West Beltline Highway, Madison, WI 53708) and will have the option of working remotely up to 3 days per week upon agreement of the Supervisor. This schedule may change based on operational needs and organizational requirements.

Qualified candidates will have education, training, or experience the following:

  • Developing a wide variety of written communications materials (e.g., email newsletters, articles, blogs, print publications, etc.) 
  • Managing communication processes, tools or resources. 
  • Maintaining content on web pages. 

In addition to the above, well qualified candidates will have education, training, or experience in one or more of the following:

  • Content creation with an advertising agency or in-house marketing team. 
  • Using search engine optimization (SEO) best practices to produce content that is likely to rank and pull organic traffic. 
  • Utilizing research and marketing strategy to craft compelling copy that connects with the target audience to achieve prescribed goals and objectives.

This position is in schedule-range (07-05) with an hourly salary of $20.00-$25.05.
