Job Summary:

The Content Specialist will be responsible for producing high-quality content suitable for a variety of audiences and mediums. The successful candidate will work with stakeholders across the organization to story mine and create narratives that highlight and support ECMC Group’s mission to help students succeed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as an in house "journalist" or "content creator" producing high quality, time sensitive content packages comprised of written material, video, social, digital, infographic and/or creative vehicles to tell relevant stories to internal/external audiences. 
  • Using defined strategies, identify content needs, targeted audiences, timing and calendars to shape stakeholder perception to accelerate ECMC Group’s recognition as a trailblazer in postsecondary education and student success. 
  • Engages with ECMC Group employees, partners, thought leaders and other stakeholders as appropriate to produce content. 
  • Monitors trending news stories and key audience discussions, events, memes and other popular content in the external environment to find opportunities to position ECMC Group favorably and in support of mission of helping students succeed. 
  • Utilizes various sources of data and analyzes information to assess and improve content relevance in key audiences and how the content is organized. 
  • In-depth understanding of content lifecycle and how to identify obsolete content. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field 
  • 2+ years of experience in content creation for a variety of mediums 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint 
  • Demonstrated ability to transform complex topics into digestible content for internal and external consumption 
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate next steps and move work forward independently 
  • Experience in idea generation and contributing to team strategy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graphic design experience 
  • Experience leveraging social media in a business setting and utilizing social media tracking platforms
