Position Details

Content Specialist
Southeast Wisconsin
Milwaukee, WI

Our content specialist will work closely with design, search engine optimization (SEO) and email marketing teams to ensure that content is engaging and consistent across all media platforms. The ideal candidate is creative with an eye for detail. This person should be able to write and edit meaningful content, provide unique perspectives in brainstorming sessions, and possess the ability to meet hard deadlines regularly. Familiarity with the concept of SEO is required, but additional comprehensive SEO training will be provided. Candidates must be interested in learning more about content marketing as it relates to SEO.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create content for a variety of platforms including blogs, white papers, case studies, press releases, web pages, and email copy. 
  • Content topic areas include, but are not limited to: healthcare, law, insurance, and other industries. 
  • Researching content and consumer trends to ensure that content is relevant and appealing.
  • Verify content and information, proofreading and editing content before publishing. 
  • Ensure that SEO strategies are effectively implemented. 
  • Manage content calendars for several clients in varying industries. 
  • Organize, modify and update existing content. 
  • Collaborate with co-workers and come up with fresh, creative content ideas to keep audiences engaged and to increase organic traffic to client websites. 
  • Interview clients and industry experts to create educational, thought leadership, and expert content for the market. 
  • Track consumer and content analytics to generate reports and presentations monthly. 
  • Attend team and client meetings regularly. 

Content Specialist Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in literature, journalism, marketing, communications, or similar. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Experience with Google Suite. 
  • Able to handle deadline-driven pressure. 
  • Working knowledge of SEO practices. 
  • The ability to keep a finger on the pulse of new content tactics, consumer trends, and advancements in the industry. 
  • Familiarity with content management systems such as WordPress, HubSpot, Weebly, Wix, Drupal a plus. 
  • Knowledge of our commonly used tools such as Ahrefs, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Data Studio, Slack, and Monday a huge plus. 
  • Familiar with AP Style a plus.
