Content Strategist
Twin Cities Metro
Minneapolis, MN

Reporting to the Creative Brand Director, and working in close tandem with the Avtex Revenue Generation team, this experienced content writer and B2B content expert will directly contribute to digital marketing campaigns designed to generate leads and drive revenue. This professional will partner with creative staff on a range of ambitious and innovative projects, while also maintaining individual responsibility for delivering high quality content.Primary responsibilities include writing content such as: emails, landing pages, digital advertising copy, blogs, sales collateral, case study storytelling, video scripts, event and presentation narratives, whitepapers, ebooks, and more.

This professional will contribute to and execute on a demand generation content strategy, collaborating with other creatives and campaign managers. Applicants should provide a portfolio that demonstrates the experience to generate leads within a B2B industry, with highly technical subject matter.

Your First Week: You’ll learn the ropes of Avtex, gaining understanding of what we do and the voice of our company. the culture of our team, and the state of our brand.

Your First Month: You’ll gain understanding of our planned campaigns and begin forming a foundational understanding of our written voice. You’ll meet subject matter experts from throughout the company, understand our content channels, provide insight into how we can expand, and begin delivering content to supplement planned campaigns.

Your First Three Months: You will be fully contributing to campaigns across our business and working diligently with our campaign managers to craft a strategic vision for future campaigns. You will understand your KPI’s and goals and be at a point to see returns on the first campaigns to which you contributed.

Your First Six Months: You will have full campaigns under your belt, have full understanding of the Avtex brand, vision, business lines, and campaign strategy. You will be working collaboratively with our other creatives to expand the breadth of our campaign strategy, and working with our campaign managers to help them understand how content can innovate and augment the campaigns they design.

First Year & Beyond: You will have established a record of successful lead generation within campaigns, demonstrated your leadership capabilities around content marketing, collaborated with peers in our marketing space and communicated regularly with business leaders across our company. You will be coordinating multiple campaigns simultaneously, turning in deliverables on time and with outstanding quality. You will continue to drive the development of future best practices on an ongoing basis within our Creative team.


Writing & Creative Thinking: Creation, editing, and optimization of content for use on web, email, social media, printed communication and more. Application of storytelling skills to create appealing, satisfying, and informative content.

Strategy: Application of subject matter expertise around demand generation, applied in conjunction with macro level content strategy from Marketing leadership, to achieve marketing goals.

B2B & Technology Expertise: Leverage fluency of our industry, our clients, and our expertise to think creatively, act quickly, and plan thoughtfully for what comes next.

Communication: Work with other members of the team to create a consistent story across all platforms, teaming up with subject matter experts and organizational leaders around production, post-production, and delivery of content.

Campaign Collaboration: Partner with campaign managers and a Content Strategist to develop content that supports campaign goals, augments the Avtex brand, and drives leads within our marketing funnel. Work to assess the effectiveness of launched content, proactively working to improve and finesse campaign strategy for ongoing success.

Innovation: Continually drive expansion of what we do and how we do it; developing emergent best practices, implementing new content channels, and creating new forms of content to achieve campaign goals.

Analytics: Measure, track, and report on content metrics to evaluate campaign results and effectiveness across lead gen channels.


  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communication, graphic design or related area. 
  • Experience in B2B marketing, preferably in customer experience, technology, or software industries. 
  • Knowledge and demonstrated abilities around online & digital marketing techniques for inbound marketing, and developing outbound e-marketing nurture campaigns 
  • To be considered, candidates must provide a link to an online portfolio or work samples. 
  • Proficiency in AP style rules and editorial standards 
  • Demonstrated skills in creativity, strategy, and project management. 
  • Ability to influence, manage, change, and inspire colleagues and peers without direct authority. 
  • Excellent communication skills to pitch ideas and messaging, provide creative direction to technical SME’s, convey project needs, and listen and hear other’s messages. 
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time 
  • Preferred: Experience in B2B and IT services
  • Preferred: Experience in healthcare or financial services
  • Previous experience working with Demand Generation teams in a B2B environment
