As the Content Strategist, you will build and manage a rich content/editorial calendar that achieves the marketing goals of the business. This includes attracting a qualified audience to our website that leads users connecting with our team. You will collaborate with the Magellan Promotions team to create and suggest new content ideas. Your primary goals include growing new leads by converting site traffic through calls to action, landing pages, and lead generation content. In addition you will optimize marketing content creation for lead nurturing activities such as mailings and events.
Areas of Focus: This position will be involved in the idea creation, content strategy and production for the below tactics.
Mass Communication: The purpose of our mass emails communication (for example monthly e-newsletters) is to demonstrate our expertise, humanize the business and provide ideas that will be helpful to the audience. You are responsible for identifying and writing engaging content. In addition, you strategize a communication flow and content for growing the mass communication audience.
Direct Mail Support: When Magellan Promotions does a direct mail campaign, you support the mailing by producing the marketing content, calls to action and digital assets.
Website Content: You review the website for opportunities to update and add content to enhance the experience of the users and take most advantage of SEO opportunities. Actual updates to the HTML code and images on the website will be handled by the Project Manager.
Content Marketing: The content marketing we produce is created with the intention of influencing and educating the audience. Examples of content that you will be responsible for creating include blogs, project stories (case studies) and strategic marketing outreaches.
Events: Magellan Promotions attends and hosts conferences and events throughout the year. You create content that is used at the conference and any digital marketing campaigns pre and post conference.
Webinars: You create supporting content and promote webinars to our target audiences.
Research: When Magellan Promotions completes a proprietary research project, you will create a white paper, digital and physical marketing materials.
Social Media: Social Media is run by the Product Marketing Manager. You are involved and work with that role to coordinate content and the implementation of the editorial calendar across the business. There will be other projects and initiatives you will be involved in as needed and as the business evolves.
Metrics: The effectiveness of market content strategy is measured in a number of ways, including website traffic, engagement with mass communication and results from direct marketing campaigns.
Team Interaction: With Magellan Promotions being a small business, the Content Strategist role will often have direct input on overall marketing strategies for the company. This position reports to Michael Wolaver, Captain of Magellan Promotions, who oversees and directs the marketing. You will coordinate extensively with Business Development as sales and marketing work together closely. The Content Strategist collaborates with the Product Marketing Manager on sticker and social media marketing. In addition, you regularly communicate with the Account Manager team on projects and share product trends and ideas. The Project Manager is involved in a number of the marketing projects and will interact often with the Content Strategist on timelines and deliverables. The Content Strategist works hand in hand with our Graphic Artist to create any needed images.
