Are you passionate about creating meaningful and personalized content? If so, we want you to join our marketing team as our Content Writer! Our goal is to engage inidivduals with UWCU's brand and help them on the path for financial success!

UW Credit Union’s Marketing team is focused on connecting and engaging members and employees with the UW Credit Union brand. This position writes original, longer-form content to inform, educate and engage our members, employees and key stakeholders in the UW Credit Union community. The Content writer works collaboratively across Marketing to bring content from idea to execution across a variety of channels.

Writing + Content Creation - 50%

  • Develop original content for member and employee communications across multimedia channels (e.g. advertorials, website articles, blog posts, thought leadership, video scripts, long-form content, internal communication).
  • Proof and edit content.
  • Contribute to the accurate definition of project scope, estimates and timelines. Understand and integrate SEO best-practices and keywords into engaging web content to drive conversion.
  • Manage to deadlines and ensure projects are completed on time. Maintain regulatory compliance for marketing materials.

Creative + Content Strategy - 40%

  • Interpret the goals of each assignment and define positioning to deliver on communications strategy + goals.
  • Assist in developing editorial calendars for various member and employee communication channels.
  • Work with designers to develop overall content + creative concepts for content that fits within brand’s existing CMS templates, ensuring copy and visuals support each other.
  • Present ideas and concepts to key stakeholders, seek and provide constructive feedback.
  • Develop and maintain consistent brand tone, voice and copy guidelines across all channels and audiences.
  • Monitor and share industry trends and competitor activity related to content and brand positioning.

Partner Relationships - 10%

  • Partner and collaborate effectively within the Marketing Division and key stakeholders.
  • Support continuous process improvement for the department through documentation and standardization of key processes.
  • Work with local print publications to manage advertorial schedule and deliverables.

  • Written Communication – The ability to produce persuasive, concise and relevant content that delivers a strong core message to deliver on the marketing objectives
  • Conceptual Thinking – The ability to find effective solutions by taking a holistic, abstract, or theoretical perspective
  • Influencing Others – The ability to gain others' support for ideas, proposals, projects, and solutions Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Communication or related field required
  • 4 to 7 years of experience as a Writer/copywriter for B2C audience required
