GENERAL SUMMARY

Projects for the Copywriter & Editor, Brand Creative reflect the broad range of responsibilities that are part of the Brand Creative department, including, but not limited to the creation of brand marketing materials, including directories, experience folios, sales brochures, print ads, and digital marketing elements for the Marketing department, web content, and I Prefer. As a valuable member of the Brand Creative team, the Copywriter & Editor will contribute to delivering content that inspires, delivers results, and increases brand awareness across all channels.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

The Copywriter & Editor, Brand Creative works under the direction of the Managing Director, Brand Creative who reports to the Chief Creative Officer.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews all copy, as assigned, for clarity and precision, ensuring that proper grammar is used and that brand guidelines are followed 
  • Generates high quality messages and copy, as assigned, that meet brand standards quickly, efficiently, and with strict adherence to deadlines 
  • May provide copywriting or editing expertise to support corporate and various internal departments, such as Corporate Communications or PTG Consulting

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in journalism, communications, or another relevant degree 
  • Proof of copy editing expertise or a specialized certificate 
  • Strong editing skills, a flexible copy editor who can quickly revive and improve content 
  • Minimum two years experience in marketing/communications which included participation in the implimentation of marketing communications plans 
  • Excellent communications skills, including exceptional command of written language that reflects the understanding of a variety of target audiences 
  • Computer and internet savvy; specific knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required 
  • Background in hotel or luxury brand marketing is helpful, but not necessary 
  • Ability to serve on a shared services team, meeting the needs of many stake holders 
  • Ability to take direction from multiple sources and follow through on assignments independently 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Multi-lingual helpful, but not necessary 
  • Ability to travel as needed

WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a hybrid in-office/remote work environment. To foster meaningful interactions across all departments, Associates who work within commuting distance of a corporate office (Newport Beach, Chicago(preferred), New York) are expected to spend up to 40% of their available work time in the office, choosing from our “collaboration days” – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – and should be available Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM on all office communication channels when they are working remotely.
