What You'll Do:

We are currently seeking a Copywriter/Brand Strategist, who will oversee brand voice strategy & its complete and thoughtful execution across the Team Sports Marketing ecosystem. In this role, the Manager will collaborate with the Global Marketing Director and Art Director and their teams to deliver brand, campaign and content strategies for the unique demands of each Team Sports category. The Manager will also be responsible for the delivery of all messaging, copy and guardrails required to successfully project a consistent brand voice across each sport’s touch points - internal and external. As Manager, Brand, this role will manage the team that owns significant stakeholder input in campaign and content development, influencer & social media management and master brand voice connectivity.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Serve as the guardian of the brand voice for all Team Sports categories ensuring every touch point is consistently on brand and to brand standard

Provide strategic leadership and guidance to teammates (Marketing, Product/R&D, Commercial) throughout the development of marketing and product launch plans to ensure all touch points and expressions are aligned with Team Sports strategic pillars, brand equity and business objectives

Own the development of all Team Sports consumer and internal facing communications to ensure the foundational brand strategy is translated in a relevant and inspiring way

Write channel-right, accurate copy that delivers on our objectives:

  • Understand the demands of SEO and Revuze platform to deliver copy that effectively utilizes key words and phrases seamlessly 
  • Understand the difference between D2C and D2X to deliver targeted copy to unique audiences 
  • Vary tone and language messages based on medium, target audience and product while maintaining the Wilson brand voice

Manage and mentor a team of content creators to ensure high levels of engagement and performance in the work as well as lead others to develop mastery of a range of content and strategic methodologies and tools used by the group.

Provide input and recommendations to the annual brand marketing plans & product pipeline

What We're Looking For:

This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Advertising or a related area. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of related experience with professional writing and editing in a marketing firm, ad agency, or equivalent in-house environment.

Other qualifications include:

  • Highly collaborative individual who can lead the strategic direction and consistency of our brand messages to our consumers and inspire & lead fellow stakeholders to develop and deliver truly differentiated experiences that effectively bring the brand to life in unique and powerful ways. 
  • Must demonstrate exceptional vision and a talent for abstract thinking 
  • Exhibits a high degree of personal drive and is able to pursue own intuition and vision 
  • Ability to be a courageous and tactful leader; must be motivating and diplomatic and able to influence those outside their own reporting structure 
  • Exceptional ability to immerse in the brand and develop a knowledge base of category differences, including sport vernacular and specific terminology for the variety of athletes/audiences 
  • A professional, detail-oriented individual with strong copywriting and editing skills to drive content development for multiple marketing, sales and communications channels in support of our Wilson sports categories and business units 
  • Strong command of the English Language, and ability to use creativity in order to attract the targeted audience to deliver straightforward, compelling, and player/fan-friendly copy across all functional marketing areas 
  • Strong attention to detail; and initiative 
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects, ensuring deliverables are achieved on time, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and creativity.
