Your Role…

Summary: The Copywriter, Marketing will work closely with the marketing and creative team to produce copy and edits for a variety of assets including, but not limited to: promotional web banners, product pages, social media posts, tradeshow & educational materials, teacher lesson plans & projects, retail promotions, flyers, catalogs, packaging, slogans, taglines, and other marketing and creative copy as needed.

The Copywriter will support the marketing team in a variety of advertising messages across multiple units. This position requires a keen attention to detail, the ability to efficiently project manage and multi-task across a variety of departments’ needs, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The position is responsible for facilitating the delivery of promotional and sales messaging both online and in print, and will reside within the marketing department within the communications team.

Responsibilities:

  • Write fresh and compelling copy for various customer-facing media including education materials, sales promos, social media, product blurbs, and other copy that drives action by connecting with customers; role will also support internal corporate messaging and associate communications 
  • Interpret creative briefs and project direction to execute requirements and match intention of voice, tone, style, and other necessary written elements 
  • Ensure cohesive/accurate language and appropriate word choice is used across marketing campaigns, products, and educational project efforts 
  • Collaborate with designers, marketers, and other team members to meet project needs on short turnaround times 
  • Research, edit, and proofread to produce error-free copy 
  • Revise copy based on feedback and direction 
  • Use SEO principles and best practices to maximize copy’s reach 
  • Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging 
  • Contribute to ongoing development of BLICK Style guide & standards related to creative assets 
  • Propose copy concepts and present to team members

Skills:

  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task 
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with proven ability to anticipate cross-functioning timelines 
  • Ability to work independently, as well as be responsive to needs of other groups/departments 
  • Microsoft Office skills required (Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications degree preferred. 
  • At least 3 -5 years previous work experience in e-commerce, marketing, retail, communications, sales, or related field. 
  • Interest in or knowledge of the arts, art education, or art materials a plus.
