Are you assertive and able to take complex information and translate it into concise, actionable, consumer-friendly language? Are you obsessed with crafting the perfect click-inducing headline and constantly honing your craft through research, feedback, and data?

As the Copywriter, you’ll work closely with the Associate Director of Marketing Strategy and own the tone and voice for DuPage Credit Union. You’ll write member and non-member-focused copy for webpages, blogs, digital ads, radio, educational and promotional videos, email marketing, flyers, letters, and more. You’ll also own social media and you’ll be responsible for driving engagement via daily posts, ads, and analysis.

Reports to: Associate Director of Marketing Strategy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write eye-catching and click-inducing copy for email marketing, banner and paid ads, and video 
  • Write search engine optimized (SEO) copy for webpages and blogs 
  • Write copy for print including letters, posters, and postcards 
  • Write radio scripts, coordinate recording, and assist with mixing and production 
  • Manage social media accounts to grow DuPage Credit Union’s fans/followers and drive brand awareness through daily posts, ads, and analysis 
  • Maintain website and social media content calendars 
  • Develop and maintain a deep well of product and service knowledge

Required Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in English, journalism, communications, or related discipline 
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a copywriter at an in-house creative department, agency, or as a freelancer 
  • 3-5 years’ experience of on-page SEO copywriting tactics 
  • 3-5 years’ experience social media marketing 
  • Impressive online portfolio of copywriting examples, especially across digital channels 
  • Iterate on brand tone and voice and adhere to house style guide 
  • Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills 
  • Ability to work independently on multiple high-priority projects simultaneously 
  • Knowledge of banking or personal finance a plus 
  • Experience mixing/sound editing a plus in order to develop radio ads
