Responsibilities:

To write compelling book cover, sales, and marketing copy for Moody Publishers that will make readers respond in order to help them to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide all copy for back covers, advertising and marketing pieces, catalogs, brochures, product descriptions, websites, emails, and other correspondence between Moody Publishers, its readers, and its distribution channels. 
  • Work closely with each Audience Specialist and Acquisitions Editor to understand the target audience for each project and have a thorough understanding of the content in order to generate copy that will be written in a language style that appeals to the various target markets and will grab the attention of the audience. 
  • Be a content expert on the full line of Moody Publishers books: reading all new releases and backlist titles as necessary, pulling quotes, passages, or chapters for promotional and marketing use as needed. 
  • Lead and coordinate brainstorming meetings with editorial and marketing to create final titles for all new release products. 
  • Handle and prioritize multiple projects regardless of the inevitable changing scope, timelines, goals, deliverables, etc. and meet the deadlines. 
  • Keep abreast of new advertising trends and techniques. 
  • Serve on various creative teams as assigned. 
  • Performs related and special duties as assigned.

  • Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines 
  • Adaptable - can handle and move between multiple projects at the same time 
  • Excellent teamwork skills 
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills 
  • Able to work in the US legally without sponsorship

Preferred Requirements:

  • Education - degree in advertising, journalism, or communications

Work Environment/Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
