Job function

As a Copywriter with the Post Consumer Brands Creative team, you’ll work to develop engaging communications across social, digital and packaging. You’ll be supporting projects within our vast portfolio of brands—including favorites like Pebbles, Honeycomb, Grape-Nuts and Honey Bunches of Oats. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, thinks strategically and can effortlessly craft communications that flex and resonate with our consumers across these great brands.

This role requires an emphasis on ensuring brand standards are upheld and that there is consistency within our tone and voice for each band. You will be collaborating with our ECD, senior designers/art directors, animators, project managers, external creative partners and our marketing team. We’re looking for a big thinker who can quickly translate their ideas into go-to-market ready copy for a variety of exciting projects.

Job activities and duties

  • Write copy for digital, social and packaging 
  • Partner with designers/art directors to develop creative solutions 
  • Ensure that copy is on brand, compelling, and consistent 
  • Adhere to campaign standards that have been established by agency partners 
  • Flex your chops across a variety of target audiences from kids to adults 
  • Collaborate in monthly social ideation sessions to develop engaging ideas that attract and retain consumer 
  • Present ideas and concepts to Executive Creative Director and internal clients 
  • Support A/B testing 
  • Make timely decisions and manage multiple fast-paced projects at once 
  • Ensure deadlines are met while keeping partners and stakeholders informed and involved 
  • Constantly research creative and cultural trends that exist inside and outside our industry 
  • Openly welcome feedback through creative critiques and demonstrate an ability to take direction 
  • Proactively and effectively communicate with other team members on your projects
  • B.A. in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field 
  • 5 years experience writing copy across digital, social and packaging for agency or in-house team 
  • A solid portfolio showcasing strategic writing, ideation and strategic thinking 
  • CPG experience a plus 
  • Track record writing copy and building brand loyalty for loved brands 
  • A solid understanding of shopper marketing, advertising, digital marketing and social 
  • Expert editing and proofreading skills 
  • Handle feedback and edits with grace and a positive attitude 
  • Outgoing, positive outlooks and team oriented 
  • Thought leader and upbeat team player 
  • Excellent time and self-management skills 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
