Accountabilities:

The newly created role of Copy Writer will be part of an enterprise Marketing team comprised of Marketing, Communications (internal and external), Industry Events & Conferences and Creative Services to implement the organization’s communications and messaging strategy and plan. This role will support and bring to life the company’s key growth strategies, brand evolution and launch across the year and strong culture. This dynamic professional will play a key role in developing content for multiple platforms, telling compelling stories and support supporting the broader marketing and communications needs across a range of stakeholders that reach internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities:

The Copy Writer will be responsible for:

  • Partner with marketing and communications team to turn key messages into compelling and memorable copy for use in a variety of digital and print mediums that allows for effective understanding and/or actions that drive engagement. 
  • Understand the message and need of the stakeholder to deliver and translate it into attractive copy 
  • Use feedback from colleagues to sharpen writing skills and create finished pieces that attract and persuade. 
  • Understand client specifications to craft copy that is on brand 
  • Work with a graphic designer to devise creative strategies 
  • Maintain a copy library for consistent use that is identifiable for each department/partner 
  • Produce creative ideas for innovative campaigns for both internal and external programs 
  • The ability to think creatively and translate ideas into copy 
  • Experience in writing strong, succinct copy that is grammatically correct 
  • A flexible approach and willingness to adapt ideas to the needs of partner/department 
  • An eye for detail and a desire for perfection 
  • Strong research skills that ensure all copy is correct and accurate

Elements for Success:

  • Build strong relationships within the team and across the enterprise in support of key business growth and marketing efforts including stakeholders in HR, IT, Corporate Development, Sales, Service Line and SCA’s leaderships team. 
  • Work autonomously and effectively cross-manage multiple projects at one time. 
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team and internal clients to discuss and determine the best design strategy and approach given the context of any marketing project. 
  • Take an innovative approach and bring new ideas to a team that seeks different communications efforts
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required 
  • 3-5 years of experience in an agency and/or corporate setting 
  • Strong writing skills 
  • Healthcare experience is preferred; willing to gain expertise in the ASC space 
  • Experience working with c-suite and other leaders with the ability to listen and understand the varying needs of leaders and adapt 
  • Collaboration is at the heart of SCA’s work culture and this position will require the ability to build strong relationships across the enterprise with most functional leaders and groups, including the communications and events team. 
  • Must be an analytical thinker with the ability to understand a wide range of business topics and principles, think quickly on your feet and learn the complexities and nuances of SCA’s business 
  • May work primarily remote with the ability to travel as needed, approximately 3 times per year depending on the COVID-19 environment 
  • Candidates must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination 
  • Strong writing skills for business and culture communications 
  • Experience managing vendors required 
  • Experience supporting broad multimedia, multi-channel communications programs 
  • Deep working knowledge of communications platforms with an ability to learn new and adopt emerging technologies
