Copywriter

The primary responsibility of the Copywriter is to be an integral part of the creative communications planning and development process for all BendBroadband/TDS business units. This position is accountable for project management and creative conceptualization of communication projects as well as maintaining proper messaging for all Creative Service projects.

The Copywriter will care for all copywriting for all media, proofing, and editing, and project management and adhere to BendBroadband/TDS brand standards and style. The role will also be responsible for maintaining all processes and documentation in regards to copywriting and for all broadcast media.

• Develops creative strategies and writes copy for BendBroadband/TDS advertising, promotional campaigns.
• Develop and present a minimum of three creative concepts per campaign.
• Develop creative, effective direct marketing programs to incent external customers to purchase ourproducts and services.
• Translate technical telecommunications information into customer-focused, benefit and application-oriented copy.
• Edit all materials for accurate presentation of ourproduct and service information as well as for grammar, spelling, punctuation, telco and pricing information.
• Maintains the BendBroadband/TDS brand image, corporate standards, style consistency and logo standards throughout the business units and markets under the direction of the Manager-Marketing Services.
• Work with Marketing Manager, Trafficker, and other marketing staff to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner, including:
• Planning project with Account Manager and Trafficker
• Providing project instructions to scheduler, graphic designers and mail/distribution specialist
• Research alternative approaches and new message delivery options.
• Manage projects with outside production resources to facilitate the development of effective communication programs:
• Video and radio scripting and producing
• Freelance resource design and writing coordination
• Develop and maintain all documentation and processes associated with copywriting – such as, the disclaimer document and the style guide. Develop creative strategies and copy for theweb site(s), including working with the internet team and designer to map site and develop site flow.
• Assist in controlling costs associated with development of Creative Services production costs on a per project basis.
• Other projects/tasks as assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR 4+ years' professional work experience.
• 2+ years' experience as direct marketing copywriter or similar.

• Excellent writing skills.
• Demonstrated success in creative idea generation and problem solving.
• High level organization, planning, and goal setting skills.
• Thorough understanding of the communication development process, including creative and production processes.
• Thorough knowledge of the advertising industry, marketing, consumer behavior, public relations, print industry and media planning a necessity.
• Outstanding interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Presentation and client-handling skills required for discussions and interactions will vendors, clients and TDS Telecom business units.
• Must tolerate ambiguity and manage a heavy workload and multiple projects at once.
• Sales experience or product knowledge helpful.
