Reporting to the Director of Grant Support & Corporate Relations, the Corporate and Foundation Relations Grant Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure philanthropic support from corporations, private foundations, and other institutional funders, including government sources when appropriate. This role is critical to advancing the organization’s mission by identifying funding opportunities, managing the full grant lifecycle, cultivating and stewarding funder relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to align funding requests with organizational priorities. The Manager must maintain a strong understanding of the organization’s history, mission, and programs to craft compelling proposals and ensure alignment with current and potential funders. 

Schedule: This is a 32/hour a week full-time position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Research and identify funding opportunities from corporations, foundations, and other institutional funders aligned with Avivo’s mission.
  • Develop, write, and submit compelling grant proposals, sponsorship requests, and reports that clearly communicate program goals and impact.
  • Manage the full grant lifecycle, including proposal development, submission, tracking, reporting, and stewardship.
  • Maintain and update a detailed grants calendar, ensuring deadlines are met and internal reviews are completed on time.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with funders through regular communication, updates, and stewardship efforts.
  • Collaborate with program, finance, and leadership teams to align funding requests with strategic priorities and budgets.
  • Ensure all proposals and reports are accurate, compliant with funder guidelines, and aligned with internal data and goals.
  • Track and organize donor and funder information using tools like Raiser’s Edge or other CRM databases.
  • Support external relations efforts, including donor engagement, events, and corporate sponsorship coordination.
  • Participate in Avivo’s Undoing Racism initiatives and ensure all work reflects culturally responsive and inclusive practices.

What You Offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Business, or related field, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful grant writing experience with foundations or corporations.
  • Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written communication—clear, concise, and tailored to diverse funder audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset, with a keen ability to translate program goals into compelling proposals.
  • Experience in social services, capital campaigns, or Raiser's Edge a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe.
