The Corporate Communication – Internal Communications Specialist is a dynamic, creative, people-oriented communications leader who supports Foot Locker, Inc.'s global, company-wide employee communication strategy and programs. Foot Locker, Inc. is a fast-paced environment focusing on data-driven decision-making. This individual contributor role will support strategies and programs that align well with the organization's mission and goals. This person will need to be relationship-oriented, driven, resilient, agile, and a lifelong learner with curiosity to improve and grow their skillset.

The Corp Comm Internal Comms Specialist will partner with our Senior Manager of Internal Communications to create effective campaigns to drive engagement, empower & inspire, and elevate our global communications culture. The Corp Comm Internal Comms Specialist manages and supports deliverables to reach our workforce across our company and owned channels. Additionally, this role will build strategic partnerships, support the editorial calendar to align on all deadlines, and support internal communication messages and presentations. This role supports our objective to reach, educate, inform, and engage our workforce through company messages, corporate news, and team member updates that are timely, consistent, and attuned to our growing and diverse teams.

The Corporate Communication Specialist position can be remote or hybrid in the Chicago area.

Responsibilities:

  • Support company-wide, integrated, comprehensive communications platforms and programs grounded in our corporate brand mission statement and designed to drive engagement and win the hearts and minds of Foot Locker, Inc. team members. 
  • Help elevate and drive a deeper understanding of the company's purpose, vision, and core values, fostering increased team member pride and connection across the organization. 
  • Drive employee value proposition narrative, reinforcing Foot Locker, Inc. values. 
  • Support on internal communications assets, including writing and producing content across multiple channels to help employees understand what is happening and align with broader organizational goals. 
  • Oversee editorial journey for all internal-employee communications channels to strengthen reputation as a global employer of choice, attracting and retaining top talent worldwide. 
  • Support efforts to encourage a one-team culture across all global communicators in partnership with Sr. Internal Communications Manager, and how to lead, innovate, and deliver world-class employee communication capabilities. 
  • Support the Employee Resource Group's mission and affinities with our nonprofit partners, dovetailing with the company's foundation, The Foot Locker Foundation communications lead. 
  • Collect and translate that to identify the best tools and technologies to employ to support our team communications, collaboration, and engagement, including MyLockerRoom, Lace Up, Yammer, Teams, blogs, videos, etc.; create and maintain repositories for the division's communications. 
  • Coordinate across the broader Global Communication team and work holistically to drive consistent global enterprise initiatives delivery. 
  • Lead content planning for compelling content and narratives to communicate short- and long-term enterprise strategies to inspire and empower team members, including internal town hall programs (virtual and face-to-face), leadership meeting(s), etc. 
  • Support Corporate Communication team, HR, Legal, Marketing, IT, Finance, Strategy, Corporate Development, Supply Chain Management, etc. and individual geographies to communicate the state-of-the-business, customer successes, proof points, etc., internally through other company media and channels.
  • 2+ years of Communications experience preferred 
  • Strong POV on employees as an audience 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred 
  • Agency background preferred 
  • Fluency in data, metrics, performance, and analytics – both for storytelling and decision-making purposes 
  • Top-notch organization, coordination, and project management skills 
  • Strong writing skills 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) 
  • Robust interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills 
  • A professional and positive attitude 
  • Driven, self-starter, adaptable, and flexible

Benefits:

The annual base salary range is $60,000 - $65,000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below:
