TEAM OVERVIEW:

The Corporate Communications Manager will join the 12-person Global Marketing & Communications team reporting to the Global Head of Communications. This role is based at LaSalle’s headquarters in Chicago with immediate access to a wide group of key stakeholders.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The role will be responsible for managing LaSalle Investment Management’s corporate reputation and brand perception across the Americas marketplace. Working alongside key stakeholders, you will manage a proactive communications plan that advances our firm’s corporate story both internally and externally. You will build your own network across the real estate public relations space and continue developing a career in corporate communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job includes but is not limited to:

  • Under direction of the Global Head of Communications, help to plan and execute proactive corporate communications that advances LaSalle’s corporate story within the Americas; both internally with colleagues and externally with press/investors; 
  • Liaise directly with internal company stakeholders, including senior management and spokespeople, to understand regional business needs and develop appropriate PR solutions;
  • Support all aspects of the LaSalle Americas business (US, Canada) through PR initiatives; 
  • Develop strategy, tactics and key messaging for PR program; 
  • Expertly liaise with and respond to media inquiries; 
  • Help to develop and maintain regional and trade media relationships; 
  • Research, write and distribute press releases to targeted media; 
  • Monitor, document and analyze media coverage and develop coverage/share of voice reports; 
  • Leverage PR opportunities at regional industry events; 
  • Maintain and update information on the corporate website and internal news platforms; and 
  • Work with Marketing and Client Capital Group colleagues as needed to develop key messages, draft materials and brainstorm as part of the Marketing and Communications function for the firm. 
  • Coordinate, develop materials and help execute quarterly town hall business updates

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English or related discipline with a thorough understanding of communications principles and practices 
  • Progressively responsible communications experience (minimum 7 years), with a focus on external communications and corporate reputation, either in-house or at a PR agency 
  • Possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with strong writing and editorial abilities 
  • Demonstrated strategic and innovative thinking skills with the ability to see the big picture, while also being able to drive projects from development to completion 
  • Excellent project-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and to prioritize multiple pursuits 
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with all levels of employees 
  • Must have strong media relations skills and experience 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, wire services, media monitoring software, and other communications tools 
  • Periodic travel as necessary to help plan and execute PR and Communications activities
