Overview:

The Communications Specialist has a key role in the development and support of the airline’s internal and external branding and marketing programs. The Communications Specialist is responsible for the development and distribution of marketing content across a variety of vehicles, channels, and media to maximize reach and to reinforce brand positioning.

Responsibilities:

External Branding & Social Media:

  • Advance the airline’s online reputation and digital media strategy. 
  • Support Endeavor Air’s external communication needs and reputation on social media and online communities. 
  • Contribute to social media channels through engagement, monitoring, and proactive postings. 
  • Create and disseminate compelling external recruitment materials that raise the airline’s visibility and brand. 
  • Write, review and/or edit external recruitment materials, including but not limited to external web content, brochures, social media for the airline. 
  • Manage content, maintenance, and design for the Endeavor Air external website.

Internal Communications:

  • Create and edit articles and news stories to share with employees across the network through internal communications channels. 
  • Manage content, maintenance, and design for the Endeavor Air employee intranet. 
  • Assist with preparation of Endeavor Matters, the biweekly employee newsletter covering news and events in the Endeavor Air network. 
  • Assist in implementing and developing communications for employees, managers and providing updates to workforce on airline goals and initiatives. 
  • Generate new ideas for ways to reach employees to drive communication and engagement. 
  • Work with various teams to strategize, source, create and approve multimedia content for social media that supports business objectives.

Other:

  • Monitor data and criteria which measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives. 
  • Computer work, in a typical office environment, sitting for the majority of the day. 
  • Position requires occasional work in and around active airport operations in all types of weather. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, marketing or a combination of education and related experience 
  • 3 years of experience in journalism, public relations, marketing or related field 
  • Experience in social media strategy, digital communications, and community management/engagement 
  • Experience in photography, graphic design and video production 
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, and self-motivated 
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills 
  • Able to multi-task effectively to meet deadlines 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills 
  • PC proficient in Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint 
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop 
  • Able to work additional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed 
  • Position requires minimal physical exertion such as pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking and light lifting of boxes, bags, files, etc. not in excess of 50 lbs. 
  • Up to 25% domestic travel
