As our Creative Art Manager, you will play an important role in our success at Nordic Ware. If you love creating visual communication materials showcasing our beautiful kitchenware while leading the work of a small team of talented graphic designers, photographers, and freelance artists - this position is for you! This role perfectly blends individual creativity, leadership and collaboration with executive management to make sure our communications materials reinforce our branding strategy.

What you will get to do:

Creative Services Management

  • Conceptualize and create retail packaging, retail displays, digital sales assets, digital and print catalogs, web and email banners, and other sales & marketing materials, including corporate communications. 
  • Preserve brand identity and continuity across a wide variety of projects 
  • Prioritize and manage creative projects from beginning to end including assignment of projects to team members based on ability and workload 
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external partners including photographer, videographer, photo editor, graphic designers, digital marketing team, purchasing team, product design team, sales team, and others. 
  • Manage, inspire and mentor graphic designers by providing constructive, actionable feedback. 
  • Incorporate the latest food, retail, packaging, and design trends into our branding

Graphic Design

  • Conceptualize, design, and execute retail packaging and other materials that are on brand, trend-right, and meet customer requirements. 
  • Produce print-ready art including thorough proofing. 
  • Manage private label custom packaging process for customers. 
  • Communicate with printers on file/project details and timing. 
  • Work with purchasing department to identify best solutions for structural packaging designs 
  • Ensure brand continuity and cohesiveness across many sub-brands and projects

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Undergraduate degree in Graphic Arts, Fine Arts or a related field 
  • 3+ years product retail packaging design experience with keen understanding of design and production process 
  • 3+ years of people or project management experience with strong leadership skills, a team mentality, and positive energy that inspires 
  • Expert knowledge of Creative Suite software (Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom) as well as working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook 
  • Extensive experience in idea generation, conceptualizing, and visual execution 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure the smooth flow of projects required to meet critical customer deadlines 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and an ability to interact collaboratively with individuals at all levels within an organization 
  • The ability to adapt quickly when a change in direction is necessary 
  • A keen interest in food, dining, cooking, and baking 
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 7 days per year to attend trade shows, design conferences, and trend shopping

This position is a regular full-time position located in our Corporate Headquarters in Saint Louis Park, Minnesota. Nordic Ware offers a Hybrid Work program which is available to the individual in this role after an initial training period is complete.
