The Creative Director is responsible for the conception, evolution, execution and implementation of consumer relevant omni-channel global creative concepts and visual marketing programs, ranging from print media and packaging, to imagery digital presentations. They are responsible for driving the team and managing the workflow and priorities to develop engaging content that tells the brand story, showcases the vision, mission, and seasonal priorities, and elicits an emotional response from consumers.

The Creative Director will use their expertise and guidance to ensure creative team members work together like a well-oiled machine, consistently cranking out genius deliverables, meeting deadlines and landing coveted work.

Brand Standards and Guidelines:

  • Maintain and evolve brand standards, guidelines and templates, and communicate them effectively internally and externally
  • Review, monitor and enforce all Claire’s and Icing creative to ensure it aligns with the standards and guides, including any creative done by third party partners such as franchise, concession and vendor partners 

Manage Creative Process From Conception to Execution:

  • Develop seasonal concepts for both brands that tell the brand story, showcase the vision, mission, and seasonal priorities, and elicit an emotional response from consumers.
  • Create seasonal style-guides to cover all channels and enable smooth execution of creative across all channels, including concession and franchise partners
  • Ensure creative concepts fully support and compliment the seasonal trends, marketing priorities and key items globally
  • Oversee and approve all visual marketing and copy for all channels, all partners.
  • Manage the creative team workflow and priorities to deliver great standards to required timelines
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies and to ensure they have the assets they need to deliver ROI
  • Work collaboratively with buying leaders to evolve product branding as necessary
  • Work collaboratively with the business development team to provide support and materials needed for new partner and new business acquisition - ranging from brand brochures, sales sheets and fixture concepts, to conference presentations and product showcases

Team Management & Development:

  • Manage and cultivate the career development of the team direct to drive continual improvement and effectiveness
  • Provide leadership, inspiration and motivation to the department in a fashion that supports the company’s culture, mission and values
  • Review work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to creative teams
  • Remain actively involved in hiring and training creative staff
  • Develop proactive, positive, collaborative partnerships with internal and external partners
  • Oversee deliverables, timelines and budgets

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art or Marketing required
  • 8+ years creative management experience
  • 4+ years of experience working with large brands, global experience is preferred
  • Great proven inspirational team manager and team player
  • Solid fashion experience, ideally in the youth sector
  • Retail and brand marketing experience
  • Digital, print and photography experience
  • Stellar collaboration, communication, presentation, problem-solving and project-management skills
  • Strong understanding of industry trends and creative tools such as Adobe Suite
  • Experience performing or managing a range of creative positions, such as graphic designer, art director and copywriter
  • Expert knowledge of the business side of design
  • Elevated soft skills that enable them to inspire creativity and work well with different personality types
  • Good strategic/analytical and decision making skills
