As Creative Director, you have a natural eye for design and a drive to lead and inspire dynamic ideas that connect with your customers. You are a leader who is creative, innovative, multi-faceted and able to easily adapt to changing business needs; a digital focused thinker who blends creative design, ecommerce, and technology with a vision of taking our creative process to a new level as we continue to grow our business.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced PK-12 EdTech marketer who has a proven track record of leading, mentoring, inspiring, and motivating a team of copywriters and designers with a digital-first business approach.

Key Objectives:

  • Build, lead, and review work of the copy and design team in the production of all web, ecommerce, digital marketing, and print collateral 
  • Solve design challenges strategically as well as creatively 
  • Collaborate with the product marketing and strategy team and business unit stakeholders in developing marketing plans, analyzing results, and identifying new opportunities for revenue growth 
  • Serve as a brand ambassador and champion of brand assets, brand experience, brand portfolio, messaging, visual identity, and business alignment to existing brand standards 
  • Spear head and manage small and large-scale projects, harnessing strategy, digital and brand design, compelling content, and technology 
  • Translate marketing objectives and key go-to market initiatives across unique business units into clear creative strategies that motivate action and build brand preference 
  • Analyze brand tracking, market trends, customer need, and the competitive landscape 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a cross-functional team of graphic designers, copywriters, and freelance experts in the strategic development of messages and deliverables in alignment with marketing goals and objectives 
  • Conduct brainstorming sessions with copy and creative team, fostering strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative concepts that are openly shared with key internal stakeholders for approval prior to creative investment of time and resources 
  • Review and approve all art and copy development by the team, ensuring initial early concepts effectively address marketing goals and objectives 
  • Present, or oversee presentation of all final concepts and obtain approvals for deliverables 
  • Prioritize work and resources across copywriters, designer, and freelancers to meet agreed on timelines and budget 
  • Train, guide, and provide hands-on professional development regarding new and trending techniques within the copy and creative team for individual and team enrichment 
  • Mentor coworkers to grow and become the best creative version of themselves 
  • Develop, own, and lead photography/ video creative direction and processes, including all product assets and life-style imagery across our entire brand 
  • Lead and foster Agile principles via daily/ weekly creative stand-ups and exit sprints as Agile methodologies are implemented with the marketing organization 
  • Inspire and produce fresh, innovative work that resonates with our different customers buying journeys that is a compelling digital experience, as well as print

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 10 years of related experience with 5+ years of hands-on creative direction in the Pre-K to K12 EdTech market (SaaS experience highly desirable) 
  • 7+ years of experience in bringing omni-channel marketing campaigns to life on time and within budget, from developing concepts to overseeing the creative process 
  • 5+ years as a proven leader in the digital space (all applicants must provide a portfolio of relevant digital work samples) 
  • A portfolio of integrated content across all marketing channels including ecommerce, web, email, social media, paid media, print, sales support, and events 
  • Prior project management experience, with a strong focus on copywriting, digital design, photography, video, and hands-on production atmosphere 
  • Highly skilled with leading a team of copywriters and graphic designers 
  • Proven experience with concept development 
  • Extensive experience in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and XD, as well as MS Office 
  • Solid experience with User Experience Design (UX, interaction design, motion design, technology, and usability) 
  • Exemplary interpersonal and analytical abilities 
  • Previous experience working in an Agile Marketing methodology 
  • Outstanding leadership and organization skills 
  • Exceptional visual design skills 
  • Prior system platform experience with Product Information Management (PIM), Digital Asset Management (DAM), Adobe Magento or similar eCommerce; and CRM (Salesforce or similar) /ERP integrations that drive data-driven decision making in relation to creative positioning is preferred
