Responsibilities:

Daily duties include:

  • Lead, manage and train a team of designers and copywriters to elevate the work and development needs of the team as well as creating campaign ideas and work that engages, attracts and sells.
  • Delegating and managing team resources, as it pertains to workload, prioritization of work and hiring/assigning tasks to freelancers.
  • Based on creative briefs and client meetings, develop concepts and visual solutions for a variety of creative projects, including advertisements, brochures, corporate identity, packaging, presentations, websites, digital ads, social media, online and offline direct marketing, promotional displays and signage.
  • Work with clients, account directors and project managers to ascertain needs to develop creative directions, concepts and specifications to meet client objectives and budgets.
  • Facilitate collaboration across channels, departments and team members to better understand deliverable requirements and client expectations, as well as producing out-of-the-box thinking and continually striving for innovative creative solutions.
  • Prepare visual elements and content for client presentations, and effectively interact with clients throughout concept and creative process, including presenting to clients.
  • Direct photo and video content for use across multiple platforms.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of professional standards for trademark development, intellectual property rights, usage rights for photography, illustration and other materials.
  • Be able to multi-task and work effectively in an ever-changing and collaborative, fast-paced, environment.
  • Communicate clearly and succinctly in numerous communications settings, including client-facing presentations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and technology in the constantly changing digital landscape.
  • Support A/B testing and multivariate testing
  • Oversee client pitches and proposals and be responsible for presenting and selling the creative work for the agency
  • Perform and facilitate performance reviews for all direct reports within the agency. Provide feedback on other team members outside of the creative team to department directors during their review processes. Conduct quarterly touch-bases with direct reports on professional development plans and if needed, performance improvement plans.
  • Represent the creative team on the leadership team and identify department needs and effectively engage in EOS including scheduling and leading department level meetings on a weekly basis, adhering to the EOS L10 agenda.

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Minimum 8 years of art direction/design or copywriting experience. Agency experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of managerial experience with demonstrated success leading collaborative, multi-functional teams
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote/PowerPoint and Word. Experience working in Asana or other project management system preferred.
  • Proven design or copywriting skills with the ability to work on a wide range of projects.
  • Business acumen combined with creative excellence
  • Proven ability to effectively present ideas to clients.
  • Understanding of copy and design’s value within a business context.
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Low ego, balanced with a strong sense of personal drive and sound decision making qualities
