Creative Director

What you will get to do:

As a Creative Director you will lead the overall creative direction, guiding and inspiring internal teams and agencies to concept and execute creative solutions that support Medica’s vision to be the trusted health plan of choice. You should be passionate about the business of building brands, fluent in emerging communications trends, and able to translate complex marketing strategies into bold, compelling, sophisticated creative concepts. You will own the brand identity and how it comes to life across the end to end omnichannel experience in support of members, providers, brokers, caregivers, employees and other external audiences. And you will contribute to a culture centered around creative and innovative thinking that elevates the experiences of those we serve.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Define the creative vision, strategies and drive through creative execution across all channels (digital, print, email, social, out-of-home, television, etc) 
  • Translate brand, experience and marketing objectives into creative strategies 
  • Develop playbooks, standards and guidelines to support consistent, on-brand execution 
  • Ensure the brand voice and expression are consistently reflected across all deliverables 
  • Brief and direct external agencies to advance creative solutions that support the brand vision and organizational goals 
  • Lead cross-functionally to elevate creative deliverables and ensure seamless execution through formal and informal best practices 
  • Analyze market trends, consumer needs and the competitive landscape to evolve and differentiate creative approaches

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater 
  • 10 years of Marketing Creative Experience required: a) 6+ years creative direction experience, b) 5+ years digital experience and c) 3+ years healthcare experience 
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in design, copy, photo/art direction and systems thinking

  • Expert skill presenting concepts and ideas, ability to persuade and engage with all levels of management 
  • Strong collaborator with exceptional relationship building skills 
  • Ability to conceive of creative solutions that meet the needs of those we serve, deliver on business goals and elevate the brand 
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, think critically and communicate effectively

  • Expert in conceptual thinking and big ideas, and ability to be hands-on to deliver superior creative 
  • Relentless curiosity to grow your personal knowledge and versatility beyond current expertise through seeking out new and interesting technologies, strategies, mediums, and ideas 
  • Demonstrated personal knowledge of design and current state-of-the-art techniques and design tools 
  • Excellent understanding of digital and print best practices and exhibit versatility 
  • Demonstrated leadership skill, especially leading through influence
