OVERVIEW

General Mills is seeking a Creative Production Product Owner to support the global Content Creation + Management team. We are currently transforming how we produce digital marketing assets, shifting from traditional physical production to a digital first strategy (3D pipeline, LED Projection Wall, Unreal Engine, Post-Production Creative Automation). This role will work closely with a range of key stakeholders across General Mills including brand marketers, digital + technology, internal production studio and external agency creative partners to advance Creative Design and Production capabilities such as generative AI and other emerging production tech.

We are seeking candidates with strong experience in creative production who are interested in overseeing scaled systems and tools to operationalize the future. In this role, you will have the opportunity to tackle complicated problems, create a new generation of design + production tools and capabilities and help General Mills 10X its digital marketing deliverables.

Due to the nature of a Product Owner role, candidates will need to be able to flex their style and serve as business strategists, product (solution) designers, end-user liaisons and team leaders for this business-critical capability.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Establish the strategic vision and roadmap for the product (Creative Production Automation) 
  • Define and articulate business problems, requirements and decisions to advance the product 
  • Utilize market and industry knowledge to translate user needs into the Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to be delivered by the product team 
  • Develop close relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the product and its capabilities are aligned with business goals 
  • Solicit and integrate feedback from end users on product capabilities and deliverables to ensure capabilities and outputs are delivering intended value 
  • Prioritize and make product decisions that will enable the team to deliver against their OKRs while providing day-to-day leadership for the team 
  • Partner with the technical solution manager and team to engage with the Content Automation vendor(s) about product enhancements, fixes, etc., based on the strategic vision and roadmap 
  • Identify and manage dependencies and risks; keeping the group product manager informed 
  • Utilize metrics to understand the anticipated and actual impact on Content Automation user experience and business outcomes 
  • Evangelize the role and benefit of Content Automation across the organization and with key vendors 
  • Influence, educate, and train the organization to adopt new processes, systems and ways of working to maximize Creative Automation capabilities and outcomes

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience with marketing, communications or content production in a multi-brand, multi-channel (i.e. video, digital, audio) organization 
  • Previous hands-on use of a Creative Management system and rich understanding of the strategic role and value a this capability can provide 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage and guide a team to deliver high-value, high-velocity impact 
  • High learning agility – ability to work in undefined spaces to build new Creative Automation capabilities and consider multiple approaches and models 
  • Experience working in a matrixed/cross-functional organization with partners across disciplines including Brand Management, Communications, Finance, Law, Sales, etc. 
  • Differential communication and leadership skills – ability to clearly and simply communicate complex concepts to a wide range of audiences

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex, business transformation projects and delivery business impact at scale 
  • Experience leading with teams in an agile framework – facilitating agile ceremonies (i.e., project management), managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up, etc.)

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for this position is $90100.00 - $150300.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
