The Development & Grant Specialist will focus on continued operational support for the Next Avenue’s various revenue streams while simultaneously looking for opportunities to streamline and centralize daily operations within the Development Operations Team. In addition, this role will be at the forefront of TPT’s federal grant submission efforts, managing the digital submission process and ensuring full compliance.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

NEXT AVENUE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS (50% of time)

  • Support both Next Avenue’s Contributed and Earned (Sponsorship & Content Licensing) revenue streams — including the coordination of billing and contracts, editing and scheduling, reporting and record management. 
  • In collaboration with stakeholders in Finance, maintain compliant revenue and transaction records. 
  • Oversee timely and personalized donor communications, including the acknowledgement of Membership gifts. 
  • Communicate with internal and external clients and stakeholders regularly and clearly to facilitate workflow, project planning and execution.

FEDERAL GRANT ADMINISTRATION (35% of time)

  • Manage the physical submission of TPT’s Federal grants proposals within the Federal grant portal for a host of content focus areas (e.g., STEM, National Productions, and Local Productions). 
  • In collaboration with internal stakeholders, gather all necessary materials for grant submissions: including letters of support, partner and advisor bios and resumes, and various other requirements from grantors. 
  • Ensure all submissions are compliant with formatting guardrails (e.g., font, page limits, numbering, PDF attachments, etc). 
  • Input all relevant records and attachments into TPT’s CRM system, Salesforce.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED (15% of time)

  • Participate as an active member of the Revenue Team. 
  • Contribute to shared goals and collaborate with colleagues on achievement of priorities. 
  • Gather data from internal stakeholders to write summary narratives, measure impact in Google Analytics, other projects required by grantors and sponsors. 
  • In collaboration with stakeholders in Next Avenue, manage the tracking of content deliverables for grants or sponsors. 
  • Serve as the concierge to TPT for Next Avenue constituents by managing the “Contact Us” email inbox 
  • Cross training with other team members on the Revenue Operations Team to cover during absence 
  • Complete other projects & tasks as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in related field that supports revenue generation, such as, Business Development, Sales, & Institutional Giving. 
  • 1+ years previous project support experience

Preferred Experience:

  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience in related field that supports revenue generation, such as, Business Development, Sales, and Institutional Giving. 
  • 3+ years of previous project support experience. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of how operational excellence directly impacts the success of the organization and a dedication to its pursuit. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all team members. 
  • Proficiency and experience with computers required with a strong understanding of Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) as well as Google Analytics. 
  • Must be incredibly organized and detail oriented. 
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively. 
  • Demonstrates ability to become comfortable using the Federal Grants portal.

Annual Salary $50-54K Depending on Qualifications.
