POSITION PURPOSE

The Development Manager plays a critical role in advancing our mission to restore hope, enhance quality of life, and promote justice across generations. There will be close collaboration with the CEO to develop and manage a comprehensive institutional donor grant portfolio, encompassing all strategic programs of City on a Hill. As well as overseeing the entire lifecycle of grants management and complex investments from various sources, including foundations, corporations, and public and private institutions.

This position is tasked with forging strong relationships with institutional funders, working in tandem with program staff and direct reports to the CEO. Ensuring effective stewardship of funding relationships and aligning them with City on a Hill’s strategic objectives is expected. Additionally, the Development Manager provides essential leadership within the broader Development Team, driving the success of the Annual Fund and various fundraising initiatives. A proactive approach to resource mobilization is needed, ensuring the alignment of funding with the organization’s long-term goals and immediate needs, thereby making a tangible impact on the communities we serve.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manages Institutional Donor Grant Portfolio across all COAH strategic programs and operating requests to deliver an excellent stewardship experience for all donors and investors. 
  • Works with the Development Team to expand Annual Fund reach & increase donor engagement by developing and executing a comprehensive Annual Fund strategy. 
  • Serves in a Lead Role with other Development Team members to ensure a positive donor-centered experience through Fundraising & other Development events 
  • Management Responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree required 
  • Minimum 5 years of development experience 
  • Clear commitment to life transformation, community revitalization, racial justice, and stewardship of resources 
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with philanthropists, as well as write and present clearly and persuasively 
  • Systems-oriented leader with well-honed fundraising operations and management skills 
  • Willingness to contribute in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. 
  • Analytical, organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with a strong ability to prioritize 
  • Sound judgment in maintaining the confidentiality of donor information 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including strong work ethic, impeccable integrity, and judgment 
  • Understanding of nonprofit development, especially grant writing, tracking and management 
  • There is evidence of spiritual maturity through integrity, humility, self-control, an active prayer life, and dependence on the Lord. 
  • Growing relationship with Christ. 
  • Is active/involved in a local church.
